Let God’s Peace Serve as an Umpire For your Mind and Emotions!

I have been reading a great book, "Sparking Gems from the Greek," by Rick Renner.  This is by far the best daily devotional I've read.  I will be sharing Gems from time to time. Just wanted to share this one from earlier this year…

"And the the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful." Colossians 3:15

The Greek word rule in the verse, is from brabeuo, which in ancient times was used to describe the umpire or referee who moderated and judged the athletic competitions that were so popular in the ancient world.

So this could be translated as….. “Let the peace of God call the shots in your life…” “Let the peace of God be the umpire in your life and actions”… “Let the peace of God act as a referee in your emotions and your decisions.”

When you feel overwhelmed by problems or emotions that are hitting you from every direction, just stop a moment and deliberately set your heart and mind on Jesus and then Word of God. As you do this, the wonderful, conquering, dominating, supernatural peace of God will rise up from your spirit and take control.

The above taken from "Sparking Gems from the Greek," by Rick Renner.

Keep pressing on!

Hello, I'm the personal assistant to Rick Renner in Moscow, and webmaster for Rick Renner's blog. I occasionally check to see who's referencing our material, and I noticed a few Sparkling Gems on your site. I like the content of your site, and so long as you don't reprint whole sections of the book, I don't see any reason why you can't use the Gems from time to time in your blog. But as long as you're using our material, would you mind linking to us? Our blog address is http://www.rickrenner.blogs.com/rworld. Thanks, and keep up the good work!
