For those of you who want to learn how to war directly against demonic spirits, whether they be attacking you direct or someone else you are going to want to help out, the very first thing you are going to need to get a strong grip on is what I call the fright factor.
The first thing demons will try and do with you once you attempt to come directly against them in the name of Jesus is to try and literally scare the pants right off you. And unless you know who you really are in your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they may just be able to scare you away from being able to cast them off either yourself or someone else you are attempting to deliver from their evil grip.
Over the years, I would say at least 75% of all the Christians I have met would simply be too afraid to directly engage with any demons if they ever came across them in this life.
Even though they already knew they had the power of the Holy Spirit on the inside of them to be able to directly engage and totally defeat any demons who would come against them, they said just the fear alone of having to deal with that kind of pure evil would simply be too much for many of them, and they would prefer to let someone else do this kind of work for the Lord.
As a result, the Body of Christ has a major shortage of Christians who really know how to deliver someone from demons. Over and over again, we keep receiving emails from people all over the world who are looking for help in this area, and they literally cannot find one single person close to where they live at, including many of the local churches they are still attending.
And I have to believe that one of the main reasons they cannot find anyone in their areas is because too many Christians are simply too afraid to do this kind of work for the Lord, even though Jesus Himself has told us in the Great Commission command that He wanted all of us to cast out demons when it will be needed.
Even though you already know about some of the other verses in the Bible about having no fear in your walk with the Lord, what you need to know in this realm so you do not let major fear overtake you and paralyze you is exactly why you should have no fear of any demon. And this is exactly what these verses are going to give you – exactly why you should have no fear of any demon, no matter how big, nasty, and evil he may be.
The Bible says the truth will set you free – but you first have to know exactly what that truth is and fully understand that truth it before it will be able to set you completely free. And these 17 very special verses will be giving you this major divine truth direct from the Lord Himself so His truth can set you free from any major fears you may have on engaging with any demons in this life.
Again, we do not want to try and place any major guilt trips on anyone for not wanting to do this kind of work for the Lord, but we have seen first-hand what demons can do to people once they launch a full-scale attack against them. In the Testimonies Section of our site, we have several bone-chilling accounts of demons trying to get 4 people to take their own lives.
Two cases in particular are “Suicide Attack#2” and “Suicide Attack on a 6 Year Old Girl.”
In both of these cases, demons were trying to get a 6 year old girl and a young teenage girl to take their own lives. And had their own mothers not stepped into the gap and directly engaged with these demons, they might have been able to get one or both of these girls to actually take their own lives, as the pressure they were applying on both of these girls was very severe.
In the testimony titled, “Suicide Attack #2,” the mother told me she was scared to death of having to deal direct with any demons. But when her daughter came up to her one day and told her she was hearing voices inside of her head telling her to kill herself, and then she goes the next step and literally starts cutting on herself with a knife, her mother knew she had no other alternative but to directly engage with these demons, since the girl’s natural father was no longer around to do this.
In both of these cases, the demons were driven off both these girls very quickly and very easily on the very first attempt by both mothers. That is how much power and authority we have in Jesus, and that is why we should never be afraid to directly engage with these demons when they do move in for an attack on someone.
With the 4 suicide attack testimonies we have just in our site alone, I have to seriously wonder – how many Christians are being taken home way too early in this life, all because they either did not know how to directly engage with the demons who were attacking them, or they were just simply too afraid to do it in the first place.
The Bible tells us that before the devil will flee from us, that we have to “resist” him. Resisting the devil means you stand and hold your ground, and directly fight and engage with him.
You do not sit there and let him beat you down.
The apostle Paul himself could not have said it any better when he told us that we do not “wrestle” against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, which are demons and demon powers.
And again, notice the key word he is using in this verse – that we have to “wrestle” against these demons, which once again means we have to fight and directly engage with them once they start to come after us.
Once again, here are these two, key, powerful verses so you can see very clearly what the Lord wants all of us to do when having to face any demons in this life.
- “Therefore submit to God. RESIST THE DEVIL and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)
- “For we do not WRESTLE against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12)
If Jesus is giving us His divine power and authority to cast out demons, then you know this is something we should not be afraid to do for Him when it will need to be done.
The Scripture Verses
For those of you who are battling any kind of major fear on dealing with demons, let me give you these 17 very special verses that will fully explain for you why you should not have any major fear of demons. If and when you ever have to directly engage with any demons, pull these verses out and really study and meditate on them.
Get the knowledge and revelation they are giving you worked into your mind and belief system with the Lord, so you will have no doubt that you are already dealing with a defeated foe. Demons will have absolutely no power against you if you know who you really are in Jesus, and are not afraid to use the power and authority that He has already given to you.
I will go ahead and run all of these powerful verses together, and then I will point out to you exactly what the Lord is trying to show you. Even though many of these verses are in some of our other articles, I wanted to put all of them together just for this type of article since so many Christians have a major fear of dealing with demons.
Key in on the first 5 verses, as they completely set the stage for all of us in the area of spiritual warfare with demonic spirits. These first 5 verses are the most important of all, as they will show you that Satan and all of his demons are now defeated foes before the Lord. And if all demons are already defeated foes before the Lord, then we should have absolutely no fear in directly engaging with them.
- “… that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” (Hebrews 2:14)
- “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” (1 John 3:8)
- “Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.” (Colossians 2:15)
- “He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.” (Colossians 1:13)
- “Therefore God has also highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven and of those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:5-11)
- “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)
- “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:19)
- And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe. In my name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues, they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover.” (Mark 16:15-18)
- “But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.” (Matthew 10:6-8)
- “And He called the twelve to Him, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them power over unclean spirits … And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them.” (Mark 6:7,13)
- “And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.” (Matthew 10:1)
- “Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.” (Luke 9:1)
- “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts. (Zechariah 4:6)
- “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
- “For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit …” (1 Thessalonians 1:5)
- “For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power.” (1 Corinthians 4:20)
- “… in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God …” (Romans 15:19)
The revelation these verses are giving us is what I call major one plus one equals two type revelation. Here are the 3 key pieces of revelation the Lord is trying to convey to us in these 17 powerful verses.
1. The first 5 verses simply say it all. These first 5 verses are the ones you are going to have to have underneath your belt if you are going to attempt to engage with any demons in this life. If you do not have a full understanding of these first 5 verses, then major fear and panic could literally overtake you if you try and take these demons head on without first realizing that Jesus has already defeated all of these demons with His sacrificial death on the cross.
If you do not see and realize that you are dealing with an already defeated foe, then major fear and anxiety could overwhelm you right in the middle of an actual battle with these demons, and you may then be forced to retreat and back down, all because you did not know what you already had with Jesus.
Many of these demons are very intelligent, and they will test you and call your bluff to see if you really know who you are in Christ. If you do not know what you already have available to you, these demons could then play you and drive you right out of the battle.
The very first verse says it all when it tells us that Jesus literally destroyed all the power that the devil has over people with His death on the cross. The 2nd verse says that Jesus literally destroyed the works of the devil. Key on the word “destroy.”
When the Bible says that Jesus Christ literally destroyed the works of the devil, this is the most intense and extreme word the Bible can use to tell us exactly what had occurred right after Jesus had died on the cross.
When Jesus destroyed the works of the devil, you know it means total and complete destruction and annihilation of Satan and all the supernatural works he is capable of throwing at us.
That is why demons are no match for any born-again believer who knows who they are in Christ, and who knows how to wield the Word of God as their Sword. That is why Satan and his demons will flee from you once you start to directly engage with them under the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
The third verse adds more to this when it tells us that Jesus totally “disarmed” principalities and powers, which again are referring to demons and their powers.
The word “disarmed” is another very powerful word being used by the Lord to show us what had occurred when He died on the cross for all of us. When God uses the word “disarmed,” we are again talking complete and total disarmament of all the supernatural works and powers these demons are capable of throwing at us.
The 4th verse ends it very nicely when it tells us that we have flat out been totally delivered from the powers of darkness.
As a result of Jesus’ death on the cross, we all get to receive the Holy Spirit on the inside of us once we accept Him as our personal Lord and Savior.
And once we receive the Holy Spirit on the inside of us, we will now have His supernatural power available to us to defeat any and all demons who will try and come against us in this life, as demons are cast out of people by the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit.
As such, no Christian should ever let any demons keep attacking and beating up on them since we already have the Holy Spirit and His divine power on the inside of us to totally defeat and drive out any demons who may come against us.
The 5th verse will now be the icing on the cake. This verse is telling us that every single knee shall bow before Jesus Christ – and this literally includes every single person on the earth and every single demon below the earth.
This now makes Satan and all of his demons totally defeated foes before the Lord, and they now have absolutely no power against Jesus and every single born-again believer who has been saved through His name and His blood.
Burn these first 5 verses in your memory banks so you do not let major fear ever get the better of you in any encounter you may have with a demonic spirit. Again, I cannot emphasize enough the power that is on these first 5 verses and the revelation the Lord is trying to transmit to all of us.
Bottom line – Satan has already been TOTALLY DEFEATED and TOTALLY DISARMED by Jesus when He died on the cross for all of our sins.
Satan and his demons are thus already defeated foes, and they are absolutely no match against any Christian who knows how to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, and who knows how to wield the Word of God as his Sword.
2. Verses 6 and 7 are the next two major power verses you will need underneath your belt to be able to successfully engage with demons. The first one is the one I have already mentioned at the top of this article. This verse tells us that if we submit to God, then the devil will actually flee from us if we resist him.
The 2nd verse then adds some more meat to this revelation when it tells us that the Lord has given us His direct authority and power to trample over serpents and scorpions. And demons are definitely serpents and scorpions. As such, we already have God’s power available to us to be able to totally defeat these demons when we do run across them in this life.
Notice Jesus also says in this verse that we will have His power and authority to trample over “all” the power of the enemy, and that “nothing” shall be able to hurt us. The words “all” and “nothing” are maximum intense type words being used by the Lord. As such, we should not be afraid to step into God’s divine power and use it when we will need it against these demons.
3. The last set of verses from 8-17 are all telling us one major thing – and that one major thing is that we all have the power of the Holy Spirit operating on the inside of us to be able to work for the Lord in this lifetime. And one of the works the Lord would like us to do from time to time is to directly engage and cast demons out of whatever situation we may find them involved in.
Remember – demons are cast out of someone by the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit.
Conclusion
Again, if there are any of you being forced to engage with any kind of demons, and you are dealing with major fear on doing it, really study and meditate on the above 17 verses. These words are all coming direct from the Lord Himself, and you can totally count on this type of revelation being pure, 100%, solid truth since all of the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of our Holy God.
These 17 special verses are the absolute, bottom-line, basic truth on this entire subject matter, and this divine truth should help set you free from any major fears you may be having on engaging with demons.
Bottom line:
- If Jesus is telling us that He has already defeated Satan and all of his dark supernatural powers with His death on the cross.
- And then He tells us that we will have His divine power and authority to trample over and defeat this type of enemy.
- And then He ends up telling us to actually go out and cast demons out of people – then we should have absolutely no fear in doing this kind of work for the Lord since He is directly commissioning us to do it for Him, along with anointing us with His divine supernatural power to be able to get the job done.
- This is why we as Christians should have no fear of any demons – and should have no fear of doing this type of work for the Lord.
Believing is the key.
It is tru, people fear confronting the spirits because of not knowing what is in their store when they have accepted the Lord.
They need to uderstand that whoever is in them is greater than whoever they are set to confront and always the fights are not ours/theirs but they are for the Lord who has proved He has won

Yes I do believe that churches need to incorporate warfare teachings into their ministry. I mean how can christians fight in a war they dont even know they are in. Demons are very real. But I promise they are counting on your ignorance to keep operating uninterrupted. My people parish from lack of knowledge. How can you fight an enemy you are ignorant of? I believe we are entering into an age were there is an explosion of revelation concerning the reality of demons! Spiritual warfare is coming to front stage. In this case ignorance is NOT BLISS! Ignorance is dangerous! We can not cut the parts out of the Bible that we dont like. But the enemy does operate best in darkness.Its just sad that as long as the Word has been written for us, people still look at you as if you were crazy if you so much as mention the word demon or devil! How do ministers get around that subject in the bible?
Oh yes, totally….amazing how they devil has worked through giving my (christian) Dad and church minister each a dream (and two to Dad) that scared the wits out of both of them, that I am in grave danger regarding me getting together with this guy. God has spoken (through healing miracles, visions, a dream, direct multiple messages from the Word) in endless ways to me and him about all that God has planned for us and for us to do. I am growing closer to God the longer I am with him…and he is falling more and more in love with God because he can see that God wasn’t pulling him leg with this whole set up. The devil is scared of us…and yes, i can see how true it is that the devil tried to put a stop to it by scaring the pants right off me that I walked away from him for 5 weeks…yet God didn’t give up..he made a way.

So appreciative of the wealth of much needed knowledge and inspiration which you clearly bring to the body of Christ. It is a tragedy that so many churches would shy away from this vitally important area of providing lasting freedom deliverance from evil spirits to those who seek it. I can testify to this sad fact that most if not all churches are either ignorant or afraid of the demonic realm and so prefer to refer people seeking help on to some one else.
I wonder – could this avoidance factor be just as the famous author CS Lewis once put it – A case of swinging between two extremes from “An unhealthy obsession with the demonic realm to total disbelief in the demonic realm?
Either case is not ideal and it would seem that in these last days as the signs of the return of our Lord and Saviour becomes increasingly evident – the church needs to break out of its state of slumber (Church of Laodicea – Book of revelations) and take its rightful place in the grand scheme of things – Kingdom Mandate and begin to exercise the Lord’s delegated authority as depicted in the book of Acts.
I earnestly and literally pine for the day when the church will stop being luke-ward and will arise and begin to do those things which Jesus testified to that we would do greater things than He did – minister to a lost and dying world – heal the sick, raise the dead, bind up the broken hearted, cast out devils as well as preach the gospel!

I agree! Yes I too so long for the book of Acts to be raised in these days! I wonder if God isn’t going to raise groups of believers not so much “churches” to reveal His strenghtand that a polarized division will manifest within the church and the lukewarm will turn hot or fade away. And spiritual warfare will be more pronounced and be at the forfront and God’s power and demonic forces will be become undeniable. God’s people will rise and God will manifest His powers even more within His churches and people and in greater numbers! WOW PRAISE THE LORD! I thank God for obedience, and the Great teachers that He is raising up in this hour. I have been seeking not only Gods face but also Jesus’s because of all that I’ve been through in my life and recently dealing with church hurt. Tonya hit it right on the nail, the congregation need to teach the body the Church how to deal with spiritual warfare but they are not. It’s like a game of control,you have to pay for power and knowledge. No one is to get anymore attention then the leaders of the house, you are to listen and obey their rules and their rules only. They use the word and bend it to fit whatever situation they are dealing with at that moment, and then slap you with you must honor and respect your leaders. People need to wake up and understand that there are many of us who see prior to coming to Christ and we don’t speak out about it because of fear of what people may think about us, or say because of the cruelty of man, when in reality a few of them already know what Gods plans and purpose are for us before we do, and have been placed in our lives to take us out or to keep us from making it to the destination that God has purposed and planed for us. Moses was raised up in the enemy camp before having to go up against the enemy. Moses was made to feel like a weakling but yet God choose Him to lead His people out of Egypt. Even though he was chosen by God he was questioned and doubted by his own people, same thing happens in the church. People can’t understand how people can just come in off the streets and be so anointed or chosen and know more than them, so many have been sheltered from the outside. Instead of welcoming the new comers they are pushing right back out the door. They don’t want us to be hip to the game but yes the demons are inside Gods house playing church and or the leaders don’t realize that they are under the influence of witchcraft themselves. People are tired of hurting, they are tired of sitting back and watching the Lord be prostituted, everything you want to know you have to pay for, special healings, a special word, special blessing, financial releases, everything costs including walking in your gift.
The Lord actually started showing me my gifts when I had went into a shelter that I was placed in. It was inside of a church, and God used me as a vessel to pray for the women that were in there. Mind you this was at the beginning of my walk I had no idea what I was in for, but I knew the plan wasn’t just for me to be there to get help but to find out who I was in Christ and to help others and I said yes to his will. I actually had to pray over someone who was a cutter to retrieve the knife from her, I prayed over a young lady who was ill with a fever and God had me to open my eyes and beads of sweat rolled off her face as I prayed and the squeals that came from both of them. I had no idea what was going on but I did what God led me to do. The young lady never attempted to cut herself again and the woman with the fever said that her fever had broken and she was fine. The power of Jesus is real, mind you I do not know my word and struggle with it but God and the name of Jesus is feared. No one in this church ever came down to offer any kind of spiritual healing or comfort for these woman, some were barely holding. On this past Saturday I was out and a homeless woman was laying on a bench and she was making these shrieking sounds, I wanted so much to reach out and lay hands but I didn’t feel driven to do so, and the Lord put in my spirit the stories about the demon spirits that were active back in Jesus day, my conscience bothered me because I didn’t help this woman. I can go on and on with stories, but this is my desire, what do we do and where can we go to seek the the proper training? My life is constantly being attacked because of what I see and because I share the word with others! May the Lord continue to Bless this website and keep us updated with information to keep us empowered in the word of God!
Novena I feel your heart on this. And I’m sure the Lord is using you and has used you. It is hard to deal with church people at times, even Jesus had to in His day. But I am trusting the Lord that when HE opens doors, HE opens doors NO man can shut!!!! I go to church with alot of people some seem real others seem well not so real and not even loving and some down right hateful. But I know God loves them too, and I continue to go in obedience to God’s word: Do not forsake fellowship and gathering together. Really it is hard, I’ve been hurt too but I just keep thinking I’m not going to let those people keep me from obedience to my Father. He honors our obedience. Obedience is the highest form of worship. So hang in there and remember God will open doors for you Novena that NO man can close!!!!! 🙂 And that is GOOD NEWS!!!! I just forgive and forgive, I won’t let the enemy isolate me and torment me!!! I agree about how they think they are soo high because they have school and experience and they think others not like them are not annointed only them, but that is exactly the way the religious men of Jesus’s day treated Him. They said who do you think you are!!!????? Oh if they ONLY knew who they were talking to!!! But when they did nail him to the cross and he was hanging on it and they spit at him and mocked him!!! He asked God to forgive them for they know not what they do. It doesnt matter if religious men approve of us or not, it only matters what our Father thinks. If the religious men don’t recognize or acknowledge our annointings it does not in any way cancel them. See PRIDE comes before a fall. Alot of religious people are prideful. I just pray for them and I also ask God to help me not to fall into that trap. Also it’s not those people you are dealing with its demonic personalities. The battle is not flesh and blood, it’s spiritual. I also try to remember that, it makes forgiveness come much easier. When Jesus was on the cross he knew what was in those people who were spitting and cursing and mocking him. He knew it was not flesh and blood! But demons using them! Seriously!!!! The religious men didn’t know who he was but the demons they did. They had know idea he would rise again three days later and take back the keys to the kingdom and give them back to God’s children!!!! That’s Good News!! We have the keys, we have authority to tread upon serpents and nothing shall by any means hurt us!!!!!!
Also: I have to say to children of God- You don’t need to go to seminary to be annointed and do the work of the Lord. In the word it says if you believe and are a follower of Jesus these signs will follow you: You will lay hands on the sick and they shall be HEALED you will cast out demons in my name! Okay so guess what that means- Every believer can and is commissioned to do spiritual warfare! It is not for a chosen few! It is for every born again believing christian. Soooo many well meaning christians are walking around with an arsenal of power they don’t even know about. And they are not using. They are putting up with the enemy beating them up and bulling them. All you have to do is Believe, that is what qualifies us!!!!! Also the word says study to show yourself approved! That means we got to get into the word of God and study it. Again spiritual warfare was intended for every christian NOT just a chosen few. Don’t ever let someone tell you you can’t do it because you are not a specialist. You don’t have to be. Just think if all christians or at least 50% were to engage in spiritual warfare how much of an advantage we as a body would gain over our enemies. Just remember there are more for us then are against us and if God be for us who can be against US!!!!!!!!!

I think this site is wonderful. My spiritual education has been great but fustrating. Left half finished and when I went seeking I asked God to guide me and he has. Which angered some church folks. I was really shocked by this for even when I proved I was of Gods children only anger appeared. I was denied being baptizted. Spiritual warfare must be taught.
WE all face terrible things in this life and if we dont know how to represent God in the best way possible. How can the Body survive?

In comment #15 I mention that I was married to a man AND his demon. I failed to include in that comment….that he told me his earliest memory was being in the womb of a woman in labor and that her baby was stillborn. “Someone else” was in that dead baby with him and “it” took him into the womb of the other pregnant woman in that hospital room. There was a “struggle” and “they” pushed out the soul of that woman’s baby. This baby, born alive, became the body for my husband’s soul (and “who else”?)
Having experienced spiritual attack from the enemy, living right is paramount so that His grace would be sufficient in times of trouble. Praise the Lord. Levi.
To all, thank you for your posts. Remember, in any victory, you are furthering Kingdom work just by your testimony alone. So being brave and courageous enough to share, says a lot about your character and who is in and with you, the Lord and Master who’s conquered death! We also know by his Word, who is returning soon with His heavenly army, to claim total victory over evil on earth!
(To those film-makers of “RapturePalooza”, and “This is the end” movies, IF you’re lucky, you’ll come to truth before you see the JC with FLAMES in his eyes, his powerful blood on his battle robe, and the double edged sword He will have with Him to defeat the coming beast and all who are blind enough to follow him!) The Lord will not be mocked! (Oh, and I’ll mention SNL and their JC skit last year too, may you come to truth or God’s mercy before your last breath on earth arrives someday.)

Until that moment of the Lord’s return, the enemy will never rest. Remember brothers and sisters also, when all is WELL for you, beside the sword of the spirit, we can pray against the enemy and should, for our fellow Christians, for the lost, and to make a difference or slow down the spirit of AC!
I have had a very intense and serious round of battles with the enemy, and it was NOT your typical “demonic” whispers, or spirit (ie: depression, fear, attacks etc. which are bad enough) I was physically attacked in such a bizarre series of events, if I tried to convey it now, it would sound unbelievable. I may come back to post more another time. but I have very strong evidence it was initially launched by a practitioner of dark magic or evil. The enemy repeatedly tried to physically take my life. (see John 10:10)
But, God in his never-ending mercy, kept me literally alive over a period of months of attack, and eventually brought me insight and wisdom, and ultimately RESOURCES and freedom! If we have ANYTHING that has us in “bondage”, it can be a DOOR that allows the enemy or “gatekeeper” to bring in an assault, or if one comes against us, allows them the “right” to attack legally.
(Unforgiveness is another BIG one, that can allow attacks or curses to come against us.)
Shamefully, even as a lukewarm Christian at the time, I had a door or two open..
But. by His grace I’m forgiven through true repentance, and by his stripes we are healed!
I submit to you my friends from a distance, that it is time to become hot and stay that way, not cold.
Revelations discusses what is going to happen with the lukewarm, there will be “weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
Someone touched on Ephesians, but everyone in need of SW Advice straight from the Word of God, that’s where the “Armor of God” teachings are found, and it’s critical. That, combined with Michael’s original advice of memorizing the verses he provided, will empower us all to defend ourselves better.
I believe the Lord is currently working on me in this late hour, to hopefully bring His message to those in need when they are in front of me. I only hope I’m strong enough to recognize each of these future opportunities and allow the HS to work through me when the times come!
Besides learning and equipping ourselves to literally battle in authority, when we absolutely have to, I believe we all have to remember that our greatest command is to love; our neighbors, and even our enemies. It doesn’t mean we have to roll over, or never fight. The days where we all may be really tested in this regard are at our door. But, if a friend is in need, be there to listen and let the HS spirit “guard our lips”, and He will help us give them good and loving (scripturally influenced) advice.
If we pass that next person, holding a sign saying “no food”, give them what you can. The Bible discusses this concept in detail, search and find it..By doing GOOD and loving others as often as we can, we also are “battling” the enemy, and more importantly, doing God’s work.
*Ruth Black: IF you read this, two years after your post, please email me. Your story saddens me, but yet you yourself paint a grand picture of hope! I have found very powerful resources, or experienced people in the area of healing and deliverance, that I didn’t know were out there. They seem rare or hard to find, but they are out there and I know a few of them! One has made a huge impact against the enemy, here in our country and around the world, and God has used him to also bring many to salvation as well. He is a mentor to me, a good friend, and the Lord uses him in a powerful way for those who may think their situation is hopeless at times!
There are some good VESSELS out there for Christians in need of serious or deep back-up, but we have to be discerning, and let God lead us to them in His time. Remember also, there are enemy forces dressed as “angels of light”, if any doubt, pray for wisdom and discernment. I hope I hear from you, God WILL finish His work, I pray for you even on this day 2 years later, that perhaps more miracles have already occurred for you and your sibling.

PS: Jordan, (see below) was this part of the Words in Romans that you were talking about? This is one of my favorites, but there are so many powerful verses. Also last advice to all, MEMORIZE Psalm 91. It has true power against fear, and these days we need it. Here’s the verse in Romans I think is appropriate:
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:35)
@Jordan, what was the exact verse that you looked up and got in the email? Was it the entire chapter of Romans 8, or did you receive a specific verse from Romans 8 from both places? Thanks!
I love this whole article and it was very helpful. But I just have one question, how do you combat the fear of seeing a demon? For several years of my life, I have battled with the fear of seeing a demon. How do you conquer that fear? I don’t think that I’m afraid to go into warfare with demons, but more so afraid of seeing them.

I was doing some study and I was looking up some verses in the bible on my phone and this site came up on my phone and for hours I stay reading every single comments and it’s so true even the church I go to stay away from the topics of demonic spirit and there are so much around us as for me I’m struggling with my Faith and I really want to leave for the Lord and my heart desire is to be in the ministry of deliverance , I have seen what demonic spirit can do and I have some knowledge of God words about them we as children of God we should not be afraid of Satan and his devices because the Lord has not leave as ignorant of Satan devices ,God gave as every tools we need to go against Satan,so when Satan and his workers are tormenting us we are lacking of something or we have turn away from God but what ever we are lacking let us talk to God like my pastor would say pull a chair and tell him seat with you and tell him where you are failing and struggling and you need his strength because his strength is perfect and the strength will allow us to mount up wings as an eagle so when Satan and demonic workers come we will not get weary and not faint,Isaiah 40 verse31 we also need to fast and pray as often Satan never gives up he is always at work I always talk about the churches standing up and take the rightful place in this world its to long the churches seat in the back bench and have Satan and his workers make it seems like they have no authority but in the name of Jesus there will be revival and an awaking in his people and I pray that anyone reads this message let us pray for every leaders and members of the churches even when they do you wrong pray for them because your blessing is on the way and also pray for me and my family that God will help me in my struggling Christian walk .may God bless and keep each and everyone reading this.

Allyson, In praying, talk to God as you would anyone — God does not look for long-fancy prayers — your prayer should come from the deep recesses of your heart because He lives in your heart and that is how He knows you (practise makes perfect). He is the only one you can tell all your secrets knowing that they are kept safe. Spend a lot of time in His presence. Get to know and understand God by reading your Bible daily (i read the New Testament first for the teachings of Jesus).
Allyson, Hebrews 4:16 says “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” You can be assured that no matter how big or small a matter may seem, we are encouraged to come to God in prayer. He might not give an immediate answer and that answer might not be what you were looking for, but God has a reason for everything He does and you can only benefit. I hope this helps!
If any one could help me I would really appreciate it even through email. I have been going through the same thing as Jordan and need some advice. I keep getting scared and filled with fear of everything to do with salvation. I get fear for my salvation as well as others. It scares me to think of friends and family and we’ll any one in hell. It seems to be the open door I need to close but can’t seem to cause I don’t want anyone there.
Dear Melissa, I suggest you soak your soul with the Word of God and stop listening to what the world has to say, read 1 John 2:15-17. There are no two ways about it, Romans 10:17 says Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Study your bible and remember 2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Just like the preceding article says, we have victory over satan and his minions, memorize the verses mentioned and start claiming it.

MY ADVICE I GIVE TO ALL OF MY SIBLINGS we are all fighting the same war but he will never win know matter how many of us are manipulated we will always go home but we have to fight this battle outside of home that is a choice we made when we left home. Ruth, you and your sister can undo your family’s lobotomy and find true freedom and possibly, your original lives and identities back, if you guys have the will and passion to keep on following Jesus for the rest of your life. The reason behind that is because when Jesus died on the cross, he literally cancelled out and completely defeated every power of hell (this includes the forces behind your spiritual lobotomy). He also took up the daunting task of forgiving everybody on Earth out of agape love so that people would recognize God for his love and grace, be able to enter his unconditionally loving presence through following him, and therefore, be delivered from the torturous forces of evil through love. In Matthew 19:26, he’s literally said,”With God, all things are possible,” and that is certainly so, because God is the omnipotent and omnipresent deity of good who always triumphs over evil.

I saw god in my grandmother I see him in my baby brother, I see him in my heart when I talk to him about how I will always worship and fight for him, because he gives us all something little do we no he gives us a PROMISE. A home he is our father AND WILL NEVER KICK US OUT OF HIS AND OUR HOME.
This past year, was a horrible year us Christians were fighting a battle we had never had to face before. For our people that looked kind just like us, were turning to them (cannibalism, killing, abuse, metal torture, lies, deception of any form.) But this was big. More and more were doing this in the world. To prove they were not Catholic they were dark angels so they would be “safe”. The bible says that the Devil will preform many things and actions to try and make us believe he is our father. In a way he has done just as the BIBLE SAID HE WOULD DO THIS PAST YEAR. We have had earth quakes, volcanic eruptions, people mocking The Lord, as Catholics we need to put a stop to it even if it means dyeing WE WILL FIGHT THESE DEMONS FOR OUR FATHER HE DOES THE SAME FOR US WE ARE ONE PEOPLE!!! BROTHERS AND SISTERS DONT YOU SEE YOU CANNOT BELIVE ONE WORD THAT COMES OUT OF THEIR MOUTHS THE BIBLE DID NOT LIE THE DEMONS ARE HERE THEY HAVE BEEN HERE FOR CENTURIES! We have made a commitment to our father we will win this battle for our and our Fathers happiness this goes to all of you who have been fighting demons there for every Catholic ever God bless you in this war brothers and sisters !!!!!!HAVE HOPE!!!!!! the best advice anyone can ever give. Hi I’ve been battling Satan and his demons since the time I’ve been saved by Jesus. I can tell you that if you don’t use the word of God they will bring you down. They will not give up attacking you till you pick up the armour of God.
I have questioned the Lord as to why this is happening. My walk with the Lord is very deep and yet am getting all these attacks .
I believe the deeper you walk with Jesus the more the devil is going to get angry. When I use the blood of Jesus and speak the word of God he has to flee. If God is for us who can be against us!
I also believe that God is training me to stand on His word and not give up the fight .
Praise God His sovereign and has won the war for us ! Now we solders have to keep defenting our families and loved ones with the word of God.
No weapon that is formed against us shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against us shall be condemn . This is the heritage of the serpents of the Lord.

Consider yourself lucky I’ve never seen them and they like it that way. They constantly make me doubt my faith if I ever saw one my beliefs would be cemented and they don’t want that.
Any advice or support will be huge help. I am currently doing what I can to inform myself of what this is and what I could possibly do. I have zero support from family or anyone else. Fear barely gets through to me on and off but I know I am stronger than this and the faith is what is keeping me here. I don’t know very much about any of this and the will is strong but my body is physically impaired in certain ways which has me convinced I need to take action now. I am not a born Christian but I have been baptized through Catholic Church. God is real I just have no clue as to how or what I need to begin with.
I’m also not a born Christian and was a sinner and still sin, but if we repent and pray, through the grace of Christ we’ll be forgiven and saved. Read the words of the Lord and do some Bible studies (alone or with a friend), that helps me a lot and let’s me know that I’m not alone. Know that the Lord is greater than anything. Lord bless you and be with you.
Jesus specifically gave his 12 apostles the power and authority to do this, not just any random person. It is only through the power by Christ and the Lord that evil spirits get cast out, not by the average man. The verses from Acts, Luke, Matthew, and Mark clearly reference the apostles. Note that not all of Jesus’ followers were given this power, but only them. It’s a dangerous game tricking people into thinking they have their own power over evil we know very little about. This is why we pray for God’s protection against them, because we cannot do it on our own. In the bible it states to put on God’s armor! In other words PRAY. Don’t take it upon yourself to contend with/cast put forces of the unknown and dark evil simply by mentioning Jesus’ name. Even priests pray together in groups for God’s help in cases like this. Go to your Church elders for spiritual guidance and help when needed.

Them that believe… That’s more than the 12. To say that God would only give the apostles the power and leave us with nothing is a lie straight from hell. That is what is wrong with the Christian world today, a lot talk like you and say we have no power, very convenient for Satan to plant this lie in the minds of Christians to keep them from casting out demons!

I have cast out demons that cause sickness and depression . However I know that demons are real and I’m very scared that I will see one in my room in the dark when I sleep and because of that I stay awake. I hate this! I know that they are defeated and have no power but I’m still scared of seeing one! I guess I’ve always been scared of the dark but now as I’ve grown up I know that sometimes you can physicaly see spirits and demons I’m scared the devil will come into my room to put even more fear in my heart. I don’t want to give him that power as I am filled with the Holy Spirit and can speak in tongues but I can’t help feeling like he’s going to come into my room and Scare me. Even though he cannot do anything to me physically. Help! I do not want to live in fear every night!!!!
Put Anointing oil all over your room in the name of Jesus. Don’t allow there presence!!!
I know that this is an older comment but I want to point out that you can guard your home. You can also make it extremely known that they are not welcome in your house. I do this every morning while inviting the Holy Spirit in during my worship. I make it known that there are no attacks to be made upon my family. I don’t really have a fear of such parasites (maybe that would be different if I came face to face with one). I constantly am in a battle for my soul, but God will fight for you and the Holy Spirit will guide you. As long as the spirit lives within you nothing can hurt you. They can scare you but Gods power in much much more than what they can handle!

Hello, I’m just absolutely TERRIFIED of demons and what they will do to me… I have struggled with mental illness for a very long time and I don’t know what they will do to me. I don’t want to be possessed or see anything. Someone please help me, I am very scared and I sleep with a bible. God bless

I am also a bit scared of demons, but I want to tell you that when you read the Gospels there are testimonies about driving out demons by Jesus. So don’t be afraid, brother, He is greater than any of them and He’s in you too so you are safe in His presence and no demon is so great like God and there’s no evil in Him. I hope you get better 🙂
I know it’s very difficult, but fear is the only reason any demon or negative force can try to do anything to you. The answer to fear is faith. So go look for all of the ways God has worked to show people, even the worst people, how much he still loves them, granting them his power and promises to protect them from the negativity and demons that attach to people’s fear. He’s already defeated them for you. You just need to accept it fully inside of you and stop holding onto imaginary fear factors. You’re not perfect, but you’re God’s kid. He loves you anyway and puts up guidelines to help you protect yourself from vulnerabilities that could weaken your all-important faith. The key is to find God’s unending and free-giving love, and tell yourself it’s okay to accept it. Then you step into him. Also, more practically, try EMpower Plus supplements. My schizophrenia siblings have just received their first bottles. I don’t know if it works yet, but the founder openly credits God’s help, and there are lots and lots of success stories. God works through everything. I know it’s a late reply, but I hope this may help you down the line.

Imagine yourself being a police officer given full power and authority by the government
to combat crime and apprehend criminals. Being a cop, you are better armed than the criminal…..the criminal are so afraid of you even though he charge at you with a knife
but his hand is trembling. You have all kind of weapons to neutralise him such as taser, police baton or even draw your revolver. I never in my life heard about cops afraid of criminals, gangsters, mobsters etc.
Do you get what I mean? You are that heavenly police appointed by God who had already given you the full power and authority over the demon. From today onward,
stand up with courage, bravery and valour to serve God as a heavenly police policer.
Our heavenly father had given you more than enough weapons to fight the demons.
Do not let the demons sense your fear and put up a false front against you. Demons fear you more than you fear them.
I am 62, I have been saved since I was 13, and I have been needed to go back home and live with my 89 year old mother. I have been here three years now. I have dealt with the attacks from Satan and his demons toward myself and other family members over the years.
So I guess you could say I have had to stand up against the powers of darkness.
Since my Dad passed away five years ago, my mother, who I have never seen pray, has begun praying every night on her knees by her bed.
It looks and seems good but fear grips me. There is something about my mother doing this that grips me with fear.
There is just something about her in particular doing this that leaves me very unsettled. I can’t put my finger on it. I know God has me here for a reason.
If it was my two grown daughters doing this I know I would have no qualms. I have seen their good fruit in Christ.
There is just this “spirit” about my mother that isn’t right!
I love the scriptures that are given to all of us in this article reminding us of the promises of God and the power we have in the Holy Spirit and his word.
Mom claims she is saved if I ask her, but there is absolutely no good fruit in her life that leaves me to believe this is true! (She doesn’t outwardly live a sinful life or anything.)
So why does she pray? I often wonder, to WHOM DOES SHE PRAY TO? There is something wrong. It leaves me feeling afraid, especially at night.
I know I shouldn’t be afraid of her but I am. I know better, but I still am. Why? What is wrong here? What am I missing?
So when you say that the demons are cast out by the Word of God and the Power of the Holy Spirit, what Word is that? Is this only invoking Jesus‘s name or is it quoting scripture?
