Warning – Do Not Engage With Demons in the 2nd Heaven Unless Directly Authorized by the Lord
In the area of spiritual warfare, one very controversial issue you will come across is whether or not we, as born-again believers, have the power and authority to try and attempt to engage with demons who are in the 2nd heaven, who are in what the Bible calls the “heavenly places.”
After researching both sides of this very controversial issue, it is our personal opinion that unless God Himself directly authorizes and commissions you to engage in this kind of very special, high level type of spiritual warfare, that you stay completely away from this kind of activity.
If you try to step into this kind of arena without God’s direct approval and protection, you could open both yourself and possibly the members of your immediate family to major attacks from these higher-ranking demons.
In this article, I want to give you both sides of this argument so you can come to your own conclusions, as I have seen very good arguments made on both sides. I will also give you the titles to 2 very good books on this topic that will give you both opposing points of view on this topic.
1. There Are 3 Heavens
The first thing you need to know from our Bible is that there really are higher-ranking demons in Satan’s kingdom who are controlling much of the evil activity that occurs on our earth from these 2nd heaven positions.
The apostle Paul gives us a major revelation in that there are 3 heavens. As you will see from this following verse, it would appear that he is talking about himself when he was taken up to the “third heaven” where God the Father and Jesus dwell. Here is the first verse you will need to have on this topic so you can see exactly how Satan has some of his demonic hierarchy set up, both on our earth and in the heavenlies.
“I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago – whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows – such a one was caught up to the third heaven. And I know such a man – whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows – how he was caught up into Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.” (2 Corinthians 12:2-3)
Many Bible scholars believe Paul was talking about himself, that he was the one who was caught up into the third heaven to have some kind of major encounter with the Lord. And if Paul was taken up to the third heaven by the Lord Himself, then there has to be a first heaven and a second heaven.
The first heaven I believe is our earth where we live at. The second heaven is the air – the atmosphere.
2. Satan is the Prince and Power of the Air
The second thing you need to know is that Satan and many of his demons are still allowed with God’s permission to roam about in this 2nd heaven – the air. The verse that gives us this direct revelation from the Lord is the following verse:
“And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience … ” (Ephesians 2:1-2)
Many Bible scholars believe that the prince of the power of the air in this verse is none other than Satan himself. And if Satan is still allowed by the Lord to roam in our air, in this 2nd heaven to see who he can try and devour next, then many of his demons are also being allowed to roam about in this 2nd heaven as he is.
3. Principalities and Powers – Demons in the 2nd Heaven
This will now take us to the third piece of revelation you will need on this topic so you can see exactly what we are dealing with. This next verse will now give us revelation from the apostle Paul that Satan has his demonic kingdom divided up into what the Bible calls principalities, powers, and rulers of darkness. Here is the verse:
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12)
Again, many Bible scholars believe that the words, “principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, and spiritual hosts of wickedness” are referring to some of Satan’s higher-ranking demons who are in these 2nd heaven positions. The reason they believe this is due to the last four words – “in the heavenly places.”
I believe the words, “in the heavenly places,” is lining up with the above verse in that Satan is the prince and power of the “air.”
Put these two verses right next to one another like two pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, and I believe the Lord is giving all of us major revelation in that Satan does have some kind of structure in place with his demonic army, and part of this structure is with these higher-ranking demons who do have definite positions in the heavenlies, in the 2nd heaven.
4. Earthbound Demons
However, as we also know, Satan also has many of his demons who are working down here on this first heaven, which I believe is our earth. Many people call these earthbound demons.
These are the demons who will try and attach to people, whether it be to get in on the inside of their bodies, or follow them around like a dark cloud trying to cause as much trouble and mayhem as they possibly can with them.
What many deliverance ministers have found out is that many of these earthbound demons are taking direct orders from these higher ranking demons who are in these 2nd heaven positions.
And not only do these higher-ranking demons control some of the action down here with demons who are assigned to certain individuals, but these second heaven demons are also controlling the action over certain geographical areas on our earth.
And this now brings us right into the heart of this debate. Do we as Christians have the power and authority from the Lord to directly engage with these 2nd heaven demons, or should we only deal with the earthbound demons who are directly attacking people down here on this earth?
After studying both sides of this argument, it is our own personal opinion that we only deal directly with the earthbound demons who are working down here on this earth trying to attack as many individuals as they can.
When you study the Gospel accounts of Jesus and the apostles taking on demonic spirits, they were only taking on demons who were on the inside of people. There is not one verse in the Bible that I am aware of where Jesus or one of His apostles were taking on any demons who were operating in the 2nd heaven.
In the Great Commission Command given to us by Jesus right before He left us, He told us to “cast out demons.”
The way Jesus was wording this command, you can tell that He is referring to demons who are attached to people, not to demons who are operating in these 2nd heaven positions. He also does not give us any words or commands to “cast down” demons from the 2nd heaven positions. As such, I believe we should stay completely away from this kind of activity.
5. Research Done by John Paul Jackson
One very good book that deals specifically with this topic is the following book:
“Needless Casualties of War” by John Paul Jackson
For those of you who are doing any type of research in this area, we would highly recommend this book due to what Mr. Jackson has found out from his own personal experiences.
Long story short, Mr. Jackson had a wave of different churches and individuals contacting him. All of these churches were coming under major demonic attacks such as miscarriages, heart attacks, cancers, runaway children, untimely deaths and sudden illnesses.
When he started to investigate why these types of attacks were occurring in some of these churches way beyond what would be considered normal, he found out that they were trying to directly engage with these higher-ranking, 2nd heaven demons who were ruling over certain geographical areas. He also found out that they were not directly authorized by the Lord to be doing this type of special work for Him at the time they were doing it.
As a result of directly engaging with these principalities and powers without God’s direct permission and approval, they stepped outside the bounds of their spiritual authority with Him and opened themselves up to major demonic attacks from some of these higher-ranking, 2nd heaven demons. Then once they confessed and repented of this activity before the Lord, the demonic attacks immediately stopped and order was restored in their lives.
John Paul Jackson came to the conclusion that unless you get a good, clear, concise word from the Lord to engage in this kind of special forces activity, stay completely away from it. If you don’t, and you step outside your hedge of protection with the Lord, you could draw down major demonic attacks on both you and your life. And in some of these cases, some people literally lost their lives.
Again, unless you are being directly commissioned and authorized by the Lord to take on these kinds of special assignments, stay completely away from it, both for your own sake and for those who may be close to you, as one of the kinds of attacks he found occurring were demons causing some of the children in the families to leave home and run away.
Bottom line – leave these kinds of special battles to the Lord and His battle angels, as the air is also where some of God’s angels will tread. This 2nd heaven is where some of the battles will occur between God’s angels and some of Satan’s fallen angels. A very good verse from our Bible that gives us this specific revelation is found in the Book of Daniel. Here it is:
“Then, suddenly, a hand touched me, which made me tremble on my knees and on the palms of my hands. And he said to me, “O Daniel, man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you.” While he was speaking this word to me, I stood trembling.
Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words.
But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia. Now I have come to make you understand what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision refers to many days yet to come.” (Daniel 10:10-14)
Notice that God did not try to get Daniel to cast down or cast out the prince of Persia from his 2nd heaven position.
This prince of Persia was obviously one of Satan’s higher-ranking demons who was in control of this certain geographical area at the time of Daniel. Notice it was God Himself who took on the battle in this heavenly realm and dispatched the archangel Michael to help the angel who was sent by Him to give Daniel some additional revelation on the end times.
John Paul Jackson then further states in his book that if God does specifically commission you to do this type of work for Him, just pray to Him that He be the One to fight this kind of battle in the heavenlies. Do not try and use the same wording as you would with a demon who is on the inside of a person.
When someone has demons on the inside of them, we have the authority and power to literally cast them out in the name of Jesus. We can speak directly to the demons telling them to leave that person in the name of Jesus.
But if you do get a special type of assignment like this from the Lord, do not use the same wording. In other words, do not directly engage with these 2nd heaven demons telling them to leave their 2nd heaven position in the name of Jesus. Just pray direct to the Lord and ask that He directly handle these 2nd heaven demons for you.
If God decides that He then wants to answer your prayer, He can then take these demons out by the power of His Holy Spirit, or He could dispatch some of His warring battle angels to take them out like He did in the above story with Daniel and the demon prince of Persia.
6. Testimony
Two new good deliverance books that have recently come out on the subject of deliverance and demons are from a baptism minister by the name of Don Dickerman. This man and his deliverance ministry has our highest recommendation. The titles of his two new books are:
“When Pigs Move In” by Don Dickerman
“Keep the Pigs Out” by Don Dickerman
Don Dickerman has a big time prison ministry with the Lord and has thousands of hours of actual deliverance under his belt. In his second book titled, “Keep the Pigs Out,” he has a short chapter in this book devoted to just this one topic. Don also comes to the same conclusion that John Paul Jackson has and that we should stay completely away from this kind of spiritual warfare.
In this chapter, he gives a very good testimony of a good friend who almost got himself into serious trouble one day when he tried to bind and cast down a 2nd heaven demon who was controlling a certain geographical area and intersection where a lot of bad car accidents were occurring.
Here is the word-for-word testimony from his book on what happened to him that day when he tried to take down this 2nd heaven demon who obviously was causing some of these bad car accidents to occur at this specific intersection:
“Let me illustrate this with an example from Jay McCarley. As a young minister, Jay accepted a call to a church in Youngstown, Ohio. He and his family were trying to follow the call of God in their life.
With spiritual zeal, Jay was following what he had been taught and was out to stop the territorial demons in their tracks. He recalls that a particular intersection in the city of Youngstown had an unusual amount of bad car accidents.
He passed that intersection daily going to and from his church. He said that one day as he went though the intersection, he decided to command the demons to stop their activity of violence there. He tells of this incident with some awe in his voice.
He said, “I began to bind the demons that caused the wrecks and created the actions that brought so much damage and hurt to people. I was giving commands right and left.
Suddenly I felt a presence so strong that I had to pull my car over, and I was becoming sick to my stomach. I heard the Holy Spirit speak to my mind, ‘I’m going to protect you this time, but don’t ever do that again.’
He was trembling from the experience. He wasn’t sure what this was all about. As he prayed, he said it became clear that in ignorance he had stepped out of his spiritual realm of authority.
As he continued to learn from this experience, he found that at that very intersection there had been a history of violence. Union and nonunion workers had clashed on several occasions. There also had been murder committed in other situations. He learned that particular demons had gained rights because of what happened in the past.
Jay says, “I learned that I should never enter into warfare with demons powers in the heavens. I pray for God’s protection and intervention in situations, but I don’t go after territorial spirits … ever.”

7. An Opposing Point of View
Both John Paul Jackson and deliverance minister Don Dickerman, as well as many others, are warning us to stay completely away from this kind of spiritual warfare.
However, in fairness to the opposing point of view, there are others who believe that God will at times anoint and commission certain intercessory prayer teams to take on these kinds of special prayer assignments for Him. Their job will be to pray to God to take out these kinds of 2nd heaven demons in a certain geographical area so He can then move in to plant churches and/or cause revival to start to occur in the already existing churches in that area.
One of the best books I have ever read on this opposing point of view is the following book:
“Authority to Tread” by Rebecca Greenwood
In this book, Rebecca says the reason some people come under major demonic attack when trying to do this kind of work for the Lord is either because they were never authorized and commissioned by Him to do this kind of work in the first place, or they were not staying within His timing as to when they should be doing it.
Rebecca says these kinds of special prayer assignments have to be God-given. You cannot take on these kinds of assignments with your own initiative. She also goes through the basic steps you will need to take to be able to do this kind of higher-level, spiritual warfare properly.
She says you need to be part of a strong, anointed, intercessory prayer team. This is not the type of work for lone rangers. You also need to be under the covering of your church and pastor, along with not having any major sin in your life such as adultery and pornography, as these kinds of sins will create a major opening in your protective hedge with the Lord and thus give these kinds of demons a direct shot to be able to come directly after you.
Another very good book on this same point of view is the following:
“Warfare Prayer” by C. Peter Wagner
Mr. Wagner goes in depth on this topic, along with discussing some of the major mistakes they have made along the way as they were learning how to do this type of warfare properly. He also discusses some of the documented cases of where this kind of specialized warfare has really worked, especially in Argentina and some of the other countries down in South America.
To any of you who feel you are being called by God to do this kind of special work for Him, we would highly recommend both of these books, as they both give you very good, basic, common sense steps you will need to take with the Lord so you do not step outside the bounds of your spiritual authority with Him and get yourself into major trouble.
Conclusion
After studying both points of view on this topic, it is our own personal opinion that you stay completely away from this kind of spiritual warfare unless God Himself is calling you and training you to enter into this kind of an arena from time to time.
The best analogy I can give you on this is our U.S. military. In our military, we have special types of forces like the Green Berets and the Navy Seals. These types of soldiers are specially trained to do special kinds of natural warfare. In the same way, this kind of spiritual warfare is like special forces type warfare and not everyone will be called by God to do it.
So unless God is specifically calling you to do this kind of higher level spiritual warfare for Him, it would be our recommendation to stay completely away from it. There are enough earthbound demons for us to engage with and cast out.
And until Jesus comes back to our earth to throw Satan and his demons into the bottomless pit for a thousand years, we are all going to be stuck with Satan and some of his demons being allowed to roam our air and set up stronghold bases in certain geographical areas throughout the world.

“Prayer Warfare” by C. Peter Wagner
If you are interested in this area of spiritual warfare, or you feel like God may be calling you to do something like this for Him from time to time, it would be our very strong recommendation that you read both of these books so you can see exactly what you will be dealing with and entering into.
Is it possible that a born again church can be cursed because of too much unbelief and rebellion like not believing in healing, in giving tithes and so on. As a result could it be possible that they are putting a hole on their protective hedge? I have noticed that it seems they put a cursed on that church. A lot of their members died of a horrible death like painful brain tumor, lung cancer, amputation of both legs and other terrible illnesses? This church believe that once you get sick, surrender yourself to God. If it is His will to heal you, you will be healed, but if not, just accept your fate. You don’t need to pray for your healing or to beg God to heal you. So they don’t even pray for their church members for any healing or deliverance. They don’t even call them on the phone while they are sick or praying them on their deathbed. They blame my father for suffering too long because he is battling and asking and resisting God to extend his life to cure him. The pastor said by doing that my father is going against the will of God. My father loose hope until he just surrender and did not fight. They were happy and rejoicing during the funeral. They are saying that praise the Lord my father is in heaven already,but they never visited him or pray for him when he was sick. What do you think? I find that weired.
That is wierd and un-Biblical. Our Saviour said those that are sick should have believers lay hands on them and pray for healing and to rebuke the demons.
Very good writing and good guidance. I always felt off when the church wanted to go outside and bind things over the city. It had a nebulous feel about it. Thank God that it didn’t continue.
The only thing I would disagree with is in saying that earth is the first heaven. Heaven and earth is such a common phrase in the bible. Earth always seems to be named earth and not heaven. Heaven can come to earth in God’s people but it is still earth and not the first heaven in my view, the place given to man. Just a technical point.
A few years ago the Lord showed me something. It was in a vision dream type of thing and we were on the street and there were buildings but no traffic or movement by people. As we were there a woman moved by, like a float movement and her presence was huge. It was like a skyscaper huge and she wore a garment like the English royalty 1800’s. The garment was purple, red and scarlett colors. She was a power or dominion, like the Queen of Babylon.
I remarked to the Lord that she didn’t even see me. I was a speck. Now I know the power of prayer in Jesus name so this was interesting because she had the legal right to be there and I wasn’t going to change that, God yes, me no. It is what the above is talking about. Under this harlot’s skirts were false prophets and false teachers like roaches(scurrying)falling out as specks of dust from under her skirts. So you see, if they be banished she has more to replace them.
I do believe and know that we are called to set the captives free in Jesus name and God gives us whatever understanding we need to do this with our prayers and intercession.
That is very wise Maizie. We can cast out demons in people if they are open and even houses where we have to live but there are demonic angels in the heavenlies that we don’t bind directly although good angels can resist them as is shown in Daniel. Earth is our realm and we have power through Christ on it, but I don’t see any precedent in going against the fallen angels in the heavenlies.
Your vision was very clear. The whore of Babylon is still around at the end although it does say she will be destroyed by the beast or the antichrist. He uses her false religion for his purposes and then gets rid of her so that he can be god.
Hello again. This is very good writing here. As someone who God uses in this area of whats called stratigic level warfare for over a decade now i would have to agree with the these authors. You never go into battle with the enemy in the second heavan unless God first equips you to what I call special opps. I wont go into detail of how it all plays out for several reasons. Ill just leave it at that.
You see,this is an eye opener. I don‘t feel i have a deliverance ministry and scarcely speak of demons despite that God delivered me from satan‘s grip. But recently,i saw my spiritual interest going there and i needed all the knowledge and power. Though overemphasis on satan‘s power has birthed life time fear in some christians,yet we need to know how the battle goes
So many believers go along unaware of the basic information when it is needed for daily living. Knowledge helps us understand what we are seeing around us. God expects us to pray for others and intercede for others so the knowledge of, say, legal rights is important.
A neighbor of mine has needed help in a few areas and because I have been able to help I have had “prayer rights” so to speak. If children come over to play with my grandson then I have “prayer rights” over the children because they are in my home. (The demons will argue thatt we do not have any say so even when we do-they lie too) These seem like small areas but nothing is small in God’s eyes.

Demons will take advantage of any gap in the knowledge of our rights so it is important to know the scripture and what our rights are. That what we bind on earth is bound in heaven shows that heaven backs us up. Man was originally given authority on the earth but Adam and Eve lost it to Satan. Jesus won it back for us but it was still against spiritual things on earth, howbeit they are backed up by wickedness in heavenly places. Colossians talks negatively about intruding into those things we have not seen, such as the worship of angels and exhorts us to hold fast to the head Jesus Christ.
Heaven is HIS throne and the earth is HIS footstool I reign with Christ Jesus in His place of victory. Amen
thank god for today i know that spirits and demons are real when i turned my life from statan to god a attack was on my life and i didnt understand i could hear them talking then i tryed to correct there conduct and open up a world that i regret i know that that is god job and i’m not authorize in some things yes we can have power over all princilipalities and demon but that it god is in charge of everthing else if anyone has encountered this experience it nothing to play with you can loose your life but by god grace and mercy i’m still here
Well, I believe that He who knew no sin became my sin in order that I might become the righteousness of GOD in Him… He Himself said, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven”… and again, He said, “the prince of this world comes, and has nothing in me” (John 14:30)I do believe that satan has nothing in or on the child of GOD. Jesus is Lord of all. He is Satan’s master, and in His name… so are we!… Whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities… He (Jesus) has been made “Lord of them all” because all authority has been given to Him. That same authority He (Jesus) has given to us. But, I agree that we should never take upon ourselves to do what GOD has not authorized for us to do. He commands us to acknowledge Him in “ALL” of our ways, if we do this with dilligent obedience, He (GOD) will direct our every step… to engage the higher enemy forces without being specifically ordered to do so is as dangerous as shooting at an enemy soldier in Cuba from Guantanimo Bay… Doing such a thing without specific orders can start an unauthorized battle. There are tremendous consequences to doing this and foolish actions are never without casualaties. We are the Children of the Living God… It is time to stop being afraid of the enemy; that defeated foe, that crafty serpent the devil, or his unholy angels. They are all operating from a place of defeat… If we truly know this we can engage him and his army of loser devils with utter fearlessness when we do receive the command to engage the principalities, powers ansd rulers of darkness, the spiritual forces of wickedness in high places. It is vital that we understand who we are and more importnantly… Whose we are! Let us always be prepared in season and out of season to heed the call when our Great GOD and Father calls upon us to engage in battle. Let our ears be acutely atuned to the voice of our Master, our Great Conquering King, who whooped satan’s butt in his own territory and, in front of his entire regeigm. It is in Him that we have become more than conquerors, soldiers in in His army with His name as our badge of victory! Let us not be concerned with the petty affairs of this life that we might please Him who enlisted us as His soldiers… and if we fear anything or any one.. let us fear the Lord. he is worthy of all reverence and praise!
I do agree with you guys about engaging with demons in the 2nd Heavens but I have a mind bothering question. The book “Mysterious Secretes of the Dark kingdom” talks about the Powers,Principalities and rulers of darkness. The book said the Principalities are Four in number Namely Appollyon , Abbadon ,Belial , the Beast. The book said these principalities are so powerful that in their unity they can plan a dangerous coup detat against the authority of Satan so satan does not interfere in Their matters at all. Amongst the principalities the most wicked is the Beast who is said to appear in the end times .Now concerning the powers the book said they are 8 in number. They are Baal, Ashtoreth, Paimon,Ariton,Gog,Magog,Beelzebub and Mammon. These all have their special duties and they do it effectively . What do you got to say about it
Jesus said in matthew28:18 that all power in heaven and the earth has been given unto him and this power has been delegated to the church. Every believer is what make up the church. Apostle paul said we are not wrestle against flesh and blood, he said in the name of Jesus every kneel shall bow both in heaven, Earth and beneath, please I still need more scriptural reference on this. Because when am praying, I prayed in the name of Jesus and no demon and devil both on earth and in heavenlies can withstand it.

this is a very nice article, i do not totally agree that the first and second heaven is the earth and sky but i agree that battling with demons should be by the leading of the holyghost: the bible say this sign shall follow them that believe in my name you will cast of demons and so on: that is as a believer at the name of jesus you should do that, but we can still see in the case of daniel a higher rank angel needed to come down and fight for him: it depends on your level with God. Demons are the disembodied spirits of the Nephilim briefly described in Gen 6 and elaborated on in the Book of Enoch, the Book of Jubilees and the Book of Jasher. When the Nephilim were destroyed in the flood their spirits were cursed to roam the earth (which are the cause of hauntings and possessions).

Chase is 100% correct. I also was thinking of this flaw when I read the article. The demons on the “3rd heaven” aka earth are the disembodied spirits of the nephilim. The Satanic entities in the second heaven, the powerful ones, are fallen angels, NOT demons.

Just 3-4 months ago I was in the place between awake and asleep and I
saw someone standing in my living room looking right at me. It was about 5 feet tall and I noticed it had almost like clothing that was made out something that looked like it was made out of a strange design or color. I didn’t see the face but I definitely saw a being with the shape of a man. I actually saw color. As I jerked myself out of that state I became very angry at it just for being in my house and quoted all verses in the Bible that I knew. I sensed it left. I then knew the mission of that devil or fallen angel? It the spirit of divorce or torment or both. I was crying for several days then that night it stopped when I used the authority Jesus has given me/us.
I even several years ago heard in my spirit and actually saw a pin hole of the floor of the 3rd Heaven. The sounds were past wonderful I can’t explain it.
I am writing here because I have no one really to talk to about these encounters. Most of my family laugh at me. They are spiritually ignorant. I love them so!

One night when I sleeping I dreamt of 2 men who took me to a place that was filled with the dazzling light, the light was very bright, the ground and the roofing were covered with light and I couldn’t see our shadows.(Revelation 21:23 says”The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.”)
The walls were transparent because I looked for the sky and the ground like we have on earth, but there was none. All I could see was the light that was sunniest, whitest and purest.
I believe you when you said you saw a pin hole of the floor of the third Heaven. I’m having an encounter with Jesus Christ and He told me to go and tell everyone in the world to repent and be reconciled back with Him.

You are making us Fear the Devil even more…and yet we’ve not been given the spirit of Fear but of sound mind. Contradicts the Faith.
I believe we all know that as Christians some are babes in Christ, some young, some elders just like what Paul says,,,so the Author is simply giving a heads-up…after all we have been allowed all things but not everything is profitable,,,,its why for Elijah it came a time for him that he ran away from a wicked woman, knowing a time to fight and a time to retreat, but knowing in the end victory is ours…
It’s not fear of the devil but reverence for the Lord. You cannot overstep the boundaries he has put you under. If I hire you to house sit you have authority over the house while I am gone, but it’s still my house and decisions you make must be approved by me. We are not to fun from the devil but we don’t have to hide. I guess it’s like the stand your ground law is supposed to work.
I also do not totally agree with the article. I do not believe that Christians should be engaging any demons directly, whether earth bound or demons in the air controlling geographical areas. Yes there are demons or fallen angels controlling geographical areas (and this is a reasonable assumption from the book of Daniel that mentions Gabriel engaging the Prince of Persia). In addition to them, there are also demons roaming about the earth where people have been possessed by them (unbelievers of course). In the latter part of the New Testament, it seems casting demons out was not a doctrine that was taught compare to the beginning of the Church on Pentecost when the Apostles were given authority to cast these demons out as verification or authentication of their apostleship and the message of the Gospel. In the latter part of the New Testament, even Michael an archangel dared not to bring accusation against the evil one but said to him the Lord is the one who rebukes him. Likewise, us Christians should always be asking the Lord to do the same whether they are earth bound demons or demons in the air. Also, I believe the first heaven is the sky where the birds fly. The second heaven is the outer space. Then, the third heaven is where Jesus is in His glorified form. Jesus is our great God and Savior, the second Person of the Trinity. Amen. Just wanted to add that because the truth will prevail.
Read John 17. You will learn that Christ’s disciples then = to us now as dedicated to God through prayer by Jesus Christ. As such we have been given the mandate and all power to heal the seal, cast out devils and raise the dead,,,,after all if you cast out a devil in Jesus’ name you can not be proud of yourself you should give glory to Jesus who has done it through you,,,the new testament is full of commandments from Jesus for us to preach the gospel, heal the sick and cast out devils in His name….These signs shall follow them that believe…so its an assignment to them that believe,,,for those who do not believe they need not worry about the commands…
I’m sorry to disagree, God gave us authority, over everything, which includes the creatures in the waters, which is water spirits, the Creatures on the land and every creature in Heaven.

Through my experience in the deliverance field, I’ve experienced that most demons operates from a kingdom, which is either the kingdom of darkness, in heaven, earth or sea.
when a spirit manifest with in the person, they start acting of some sort of animal, which is link with the above kingdoms.
Jesus preaching was mostly on the Kingdom of God, cause in spiritual battles the fight is between the kingdom of darkness and the Kingdom of God, as it is in heaven, so shall it be on earth.
E.g. in the Kingdom of God there is no sickness, disease etc. but in the kingdom of darkness, they bring forth sickness, disease etc. so when you pray for healing, salvation or deliverance, you go against the barriers of destruction and this affect the Kingdom of darkness through the Kingdom of God.
Like we receive our powers through Jesus Christ so does the agents of satan as well, so when you are victorious over any disease or any sort of demonic problem, that means that you have brought upon destruction on the kingdom of darkness, it doesn’t matter if they operate in the heavens, earth, sea or hades.

What demon would the spirit animal of cats and mice be equated to? These are the ones I’m having experience with at least the only ones I can determine by the way they feel or act. I “see” them…not like in the traditional sense, but like heat waves or a disturbance in my field of vision. Things move because they crawl or walk on them. I feel them touch me. Sometimes they are warm and at least one gives me cold fear chills from the ground up..not the same as the chills that start in my head and go to my feet like the touch of the Holy spirit. I have made some major mistakes in the recent past and I believe God is chastising me. I need help determining which type of demon I’m dealing with so I can know exactly what to hit it with and I’m very new to deliverance. I need help!

I was so touched of your articles, for they were answers of what has been happening to me now. I know I have a strong calling in the prophetical call. It is a warrior and intercessorr. It gets real intense but it is as though I can see in the spirit realm of what I am praying against. Like, I will get this strong nudge to pray for someone or sitiutation and I do and I can see what is going on, Someone going to have a car wreck but as I intercede it stops the wreck from happening. I have encounted demons, big and evil to come into my room as i sleeping and take the covers and put over my head but I wake up and out of my mouth will come, The lords of Hosts rebuke you satan and all your cohorts of hell to begone. My bed lifted up and put in the middle of the room with me in it. I know my dreams and visions and word of knowelege is sometimes overwelming and the things God shows me for the latter times, events and I keep all this inside me. I now know that it is the call on peoples lives satan is afraid of. He is so threaten by God’s chosen. He knows his time is about to end and his kingdom is coming down. The only way to stay safe is live in the anointing for the day is not over.

Your example of Jay McCarley is inconclusive. The spiritual situation is not stated. Was Jay baptized in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues? How close was he to God? Did he have an intimate relationship with God? Some years ago, I got the following word from God. There are five levels:
Lowest: 1. Praise
2. Worship
3. Intimacy
4. Divine revelation
5. Power
Where was Jay? Most so called Christians have no power because they don’t have a relationship with God. To state examples without establishing the spiritual situation is not correct.

There are not necessarily 3 heavens, only because Paul was caught up in the third heaven. I think there are many more “heavens”, only Paul heard words from the Lord in the third one. It is only mentioned once in the Bible…
I think you are very cautious in your article. Perhaps a little bit discouraging.
Many years already I am specifically praying for continents and countries and big parts of the world. Always atttacking the powers that oversee these continents. (According to your believe in the second heaven.) When they are bound, they have less and less influence. Then I let go (or loose or set free) an opposite spirit to do it’s work.
It has always good results and I have never been hurt by the demons or fallen angels. The Lord protects me. But, to be honest, the Lord has commanded me to do these things. Thart’s probably why I am always protected by Him and do not fear…
Addition to above. I like to learn and have to learn a lot. But usually I first try to identify the ruling spirits over a continent.
Then I do bind them and sometimes imprison them, let by the Holy Spirit. Sometimes I send them away to the place they came from. Most of the time the high ranking powers stay in the same region but sometimes they go somewhere else. Then I let them return to where they came from.
When a ruling power has been bound I set free the opposit spirit from God so this spirit has much more freedom over the continent.
I always speak directly to the powers of darkness and have never been hurt. Sometimes a small attack, but that’s gone after a while.
After the “continent powers” have been neutralized, I try to discover the lesser powers, with authority over smaller regions.
Then these smaller demons have less power when there boss has been bound. So I directly attack these smaller demons. And again set the opposite spirit of God free.
So I continue…
But I have a lot to learn and want to be much more effective in this kind of warfare. But I do not know where to find this knowledge.
What I did write above is how I do it in pratice myself. But I should like to learn better ways to cripple the devil and his angels and demons. To set continents free, to set regions free, to set countries free, to set people free …
I am one of those called to battle on high levels. It wasn’t my idea, it was God’s. I agree with the cautions stated. DO NOT enter into this level unless called. It isn’t that there isn’t authority to unseat demons/fallen angels. It’s that we aren’t always walking in the fullness of the authority we could be. This level requires a life change. Your words, ones you speak all the time, must be guarded. You would have gone through a process of prayer, fasting, repentance, deliverance and correction. All pride, self-promotion, unforgiveness, power seeking, and more will literally feel like it’s being broken out of you. THere is a special training for those in God’s special forces, not everyone makes the cut. And you know beyond a shadow of a doubr Jesus and His army stands with you. I have seen this twice so far. It also requires an hear to hear orders and changes in orders quickly. The enemies of God have watched us for 6000 years, they know more about us than we do. But God knows them better and if we follow Him, we will always be victorious. PS. I love this website, so much info given in a clear easy to understand words with scripture. I will be using it to teach others.

Please understand that the Kingdom of God is beyond any other kingdom, their is no other kingdom above the Kingdom of God and thus the order of authority is that any other kingdom below the other kingdom has to submit to the kingdom above.
the earth is the second lowest kingdom, that is why we do not war in carnality.
it doesn’t matter whether it is the 1st, 2nd or 3rd heaven that we war against, the Kingdom of God is above all, now when we engage into spiritual battles or even deliverance, we do not do it in our own strength, but through the one that has been given authority above all else who is Jesus.
also bare in my mind if you are Baptist with the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of the True God living in you, you are then walking in authority of the Kingdom of God, which means that you are in the Highest authority far above any principalities.
But do not engage into any warfare, it doesn’t matter which heaven they are operating in, if you don’t have Jesus in your life and if you don’t have the Holy Spirit living in you and if you don’t understand the authority that you have in Jesus Christ.
There’s no need to fear demons – all you have to do is plead the Blood of Yeshua/Jesus over them and they have to flee – they can’t handle the power of Yeshua’s Name and Blood – I do this everyday over people/animals and property, food, water – towns and cities and the whole earth.

Good points but then, God’s deal with us is individualistic, according to the measure of faith to each, “All Authority in heaven and on earth is given to JESUS”, so demons are not to be feared, though specific assignments cannot be ignorantly rambled into without God’s leading or divine mandate, wisdom is profitable to direct..

Great article. I couldn’t agree more. Stand clear of the 2nd heavens unless you are commissioned by God and follow His exact instructions in how to engage devils in the 2nd heaven. God has given us authority on earth, not in the 2nd heaven. Unless He specifically calls us to engage there in His name and with His help. The confusion that you’re having is because you are calling these 2nd heaven beings demons. They’re not demons they’re fallen angels. The Book of Enoch tells us that demons are the disembodied spirits of the nephilim who were cursed to roam the earth. Yeshua gave us the power to cast out demonsin His name. We were never given authority over fallen angels, they’re in a whole other league.

This makes enormous sense to me! Thank you for tying this all together. I did know about the difference between demons and fallen angels (and the Book of Enoch) but being new to this study I hadn’t sorted out the authority and placement.
Good work and contributions from all. Using Daniel’s example where a lesser Angel who was sent by God but was resisted but a higher ranking evil Spirit. I think we will have to be lead in spiritual warfare.

The power and authority God gives us is not limited to any realm of warfare but its at all battle fronts.. In the heavens, on the earth, under the earth and in the waters..

I was thinking this same thing throughout the article. I know the enemy would love for us to fear him. This is what I find wrong with the whole idea of not attempting to do warfare in certain places. I agree there should be an unction from the Lord as there should be in anything we do for Him. But, to fear any part of the enemies camp is not from our Father. Satan is a defeated foe. I like to think of him that way. No fear in Christ when you are walking in the Spirit of God.

Authority in God’s Heavenly Kingdom is delegated. As on Earth spiritually. Not all are commended of the Lord for the same Works He preforms in and through some. As to demonic realms, Satan himself went up against Jesus in His fasting in the wilderness for 40 days !
His Apostles failed to cast out certain demons Jesus told them because this kind comes out only by prayer and fasting. Each human being believing on Jesus Christ has a station in life. Beit, parent, pastor, businessman, Dr.or other. Each have limits for authority. It is the same in Heaven. On Earth our Guardian Angel is God’s highest spiritual authority over us in the Lord’s keeping. The maturity of spiritual growth requires us to submit to God’s appointed authority. Just as we submit to our parents, employers, governing bodies etc. as long as they do not go against what God’s Commandments state. None are as believers , higher in God’s true commendation of His Holy Spirit’s true spiritual Power to disobey God, the Holy Spirit and do whatever or whenever they please even in ignorance or spiritual pride ! God has the Spiritual Victory and while some will prrsist in adhering to specific scriptural passages as taken to be equal to His mature spiritual Commendation, this is not true application of God’s Holy Word, nor of His Holy Spirit. Overcoming the flesh with all of the temptations is firstly the battleground of the soul’s redemption. Be aware while multiple others pursue warfare, frequently without personal danger, notice those around them. Likelier than not, those around them are in dangered!
Obedience to Him first, for it is through His Authority anyone is employed of God to become His instruments of His Goodness in the flesh as human beings.
Very interesting article. However, I strongly believe that we have authority over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). Saying that certain areas are no go areas for a Christian would be against this scripture. Perhaps, we should rather advise to be well prepared when we engage in spiritual warfare (Armour of God, Eph 6:13). I do appreciate personal experiences and testimonies but there should be backed up and in line with the word of God. Are there any scriptures backing up that we should not go into certain areas. Perhaps, if you are referring to fallen angels, I suppose these are left under the authority of other angels to carry the fight because I am not aware of any instructions of the LORD on that. For example in Jude 9, Michael could not hand down judgment against the devil, he simply pass the battle to God Himself saying may God rebuke you. So it was not in his authority to handle judgment on Lucifer.
Like you, i question about limitations on where we do battle.
Jesus gave us the “keys of the kingdom, whatever we bind on earth is bound in heaven”. Ephesians 1: states He gave us the same power that rose Jesus from the dead. GNT has best version. Very good read but anytime you fight the devil he will fight back if he can I pray against the first and second heaven daily and the marine kingdom because in Genesis 1 vs 26 we have Dominion over the earth the sea, under the sea and the air.
Yes the devil kept trying to attack but it doesn’t phase me as he was trying to kill me years before I started this so I’m fighting back and God continues to deliver me.
Jeremiah was called to pluck and pull down ECT, God never changed and Joel 2 is clear, God called everyone who is available for youse in these last days.

September 2019 – About a month ago, I had a dream that I was flying like an eagle. From a distance, I could see something crawling on the ground, I flew closer to see what it was and here was a demon, which looked like a cross-between a preying mantis and root of a tree. It was crawling on the ground starring up at me as I encircled it. As I continued to fly up in the air, I looked back at this demon and it was looking back at me. I pulled out a square black piece of cloth, which looked like it was 3′ x 3′ in diameter, I hung it in the air (just like you would hang clothing on a clothes line), so the demon couldn’t see me, then continued on flying. From a distance, I could see dark clouds, I then came to a tunnel going down. I flew down this tunnel and as I was going down, I seen what looked like black and white flowered wall paper covering the walls of the tunnel. When I got to the bottom of the tunnel, I came across a congregation of people worshipping God. I then came across a guy who asked how I was able to fly, and all I mentioned was Gods name. End of dream

I believe that we have dominion over the territory of the fish and over the territory of the birds and also over all that which crawls.
We also have authority over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means harm us. I have made tremendous progress in my personal life and also in spiritual warfare that I personally believe that the enemy wants us to be afraid of certain territorial conditions.
We just need to be properly prepared and conduct spiritual warfare using the guidance presented to us in the bible. I always read Acts of the Apostles chapter 27 to encourage myself. Apostle Paul endured a lot of demonic drama in this chapter but God was faithful. Not even one life was lost and the objective of reaching Rome was achieved.
You can do what you are authorized to do through Christ — as God’s Word says — and as the Holy Spirits leads. HOWEVER, be careful. With power and authority comes great responsibility along with maturity and wisdom. The Bible says to get wisdom and to get understanding and NOT to lean to our own understanding. We need to know what the whole Bible says about warfare and the sprit realm including the of when, where, how, etc. . Yes, believers of Christ have rights, but without the right amount training we can take a few verses or one book, one teaching or a little understanding and run out and start binding and rebuking everything in sight and not have the understanding and knowledge of how the spirit realm really works. The Bible references God’s “legal system, His courts, His justice. Satan is the accuser of the brethren, bringing cases against the brethren and sometimes we have given him legal rights to do things. Christ fights for us as our advocate. Don’t want to get into another topic. A eye opener for me
I found myself engaging in a warfare that actually I wasn’t commissioned for ..I felt hopeless, bitter and purging a lot not knowing that, that wasn’t my call and even authorization from God..I felt the Lord left me and amazing part he used to warn me a lot ..Clearly many battles belong to God..
Well let me drop a short note on my experience,I knew I went on vissiony, probably in the air floating,about these year or before these article was written,now in 2024,I decided to make findings,and came across these article,I was floating in the air with passion and song until these spirit dressed in white with a croWn on his head withstood me and stopped me from progressing forward.i tried all manner of thing to pass through I couldn’t,got tired and frustrated..in my anger I wanted who he was.
Now I know probably still restrain from getting to my destination, should I keep watch knowing fully well who is at my front,and my bible tell me ,we wrestle not…..,knowing fully well the Bible telling me to put on the whole armor of God.

In psalm 24 vs 7,I read a voice ,commanding these same spirit to be displaced ,because the spirit of God is in him,and also that we are sitted at the right hand of God above principalities and powers.so I need more clarification why the author said except God permission.
I’m truly grateful to have read the article and by the grace of God learning to know the difference between the high-ranking,the earthly bound and geographical/territorial demons.I am one of the Intercessors in our church and just to have knowledge of what we are dealing with is Important to pray strategically with the help of the Holy Spirit.I find myself more interested in spiritual warfare prayers.I would like to know more,our church is Apostolic,Prophetic and Deliverance ministry.Thank you
