As you will see in the very powerful verses I will be listing in this article – Jesus Christ, and His sacrificial death on the cross, is the central and most important fundamental, basic tenet of the Christian faith. Jesus Christ is God’s only plan of eternal salvation for the entire world.
The Bible specifically says, without any other possible interpretation, that there is only one God, one faith, one baptism, and one way to God the Father – and that is only through His Son Jesus Christ and His sacrificial death on the cross.
Jesus says that He, and only He, is the way, the truth, and the life leading to God the Father and that no one comes to the Father except through Him!

Many people, including some Christians, believe that God the Father honors all other religions as long as people try to live a good and godly life and try to stay out of trouble.
However, as you will see in the Scripture verses I will list below, this is not the way God the Father has everything set up.
God will not honor any other religion, and He makes it very clear that it is only through His Son Jesus and His sacrificial death on the cross that will give people eternal salvation and thus eternal life with Him in heaven.
The Bible says that we are appointed for the defense of the gospel. It is our job, when called upon, to defend God and Jesus on the basics of our salvation. Here are two verses specifically telling us this:
- “… knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel.” (Philippians 1:16)
- “… always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you …” (1 Peter 3:15)
Below are some of the main verses from Scripture that will deal with the basics of our eternal salvation through Jesus Christ. These verses are the basic ammunition that you will need when witnessing to anyone.
There are 6 main principles to the basic message of God’s plan of eternal salvation for the entire world. Here they are, along with all of the Scripture verses to back them up.
1. Jesus Christ is the Only Way to Eternal Salvation with God the Father
As stated above, there is no other name under Heaven by which man can be saved other than through the name of Jesus Christ! God the Father will not honor any other name, religion or faith!
Please note the extreme power and authority on the first four verses listed below.
These first four verses specifically tell us, without any other possible interpretation, that Jesus Christ is the only way to be able to receive eternal salvation with God the Father.
- “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
- “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all …” (1 Timothy 2:5)
- “There is one body and one Spirit … one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” (Ephesians 4:4)
- Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)
- “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and find pasture … I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:9)
- Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life, he who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.” (John 11:25)
- Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” (John 8:12)
- And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.” (John 6:35)
- “I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.” (John 6:51)
- “… whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:15-16)
- “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” (John 3:36)
- “Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.” (John 8:24)
- “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.” (John 5:24)
- “… And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; He who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” (1 John 5:11)
- “And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.” (1 John 4:14)
I do not see any other interpretation as to what these verses are trying to tell us other than Jesus Christ is the only way to God the Father and His dwelling place, heaven!
I do not think God the Father could have made things any more clear than by the way He has worded all of the above Scripture verses!
Jesus Himself said in the New Testament that He did not come to bring peace – but division!
What He means by this is that He is drawing a major battle line in the sand.
You either believe in Him and everything that He stands for – or you do not. There are no middle or neutral grounds on this issue.
If you choose not to believe in Jesus Christ and His message of eternal salvation through His death on the cross, then you will die in your sins and go straight to hell when you die – no if, ands, or buts about it!
The life that we are living down here on this earth is serious business!
The choices that we make in this life will determine our ultimate fate in the afterlife.
Choose Jesus Christ and the blood that He has personally shed for you on the cross – and you will then become saved and born again – and you will then enter into the most incredible place imaginable when you die – heaven itself!
Choose anyone or anything else, and you will cross over into the most horrible place imaginable when you die – hell itself, and then eventually into the Lake of Fire and Brimstone after the Millennium has taken place, where the Bible says that the smoke of your torment will ascend forever and ever!
2. God Desires All Men to be Saved
God has given each man and each woman a free will to make their own choices in this life. The next 3 verses will show us that God does not want anyone to perish. However, God will not make or force anyone to accept Him and His Son and what His Son’s death on the cross really means for all of us.
Here are three very powerful verses showing that God wants all men and all women to be saved through the Blood of His Son Jesus.
- “… God our Savior, who desires ALL MEN to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:4)
- “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)
- “For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For WHOEVER calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:12)
Notice that God the Father is wanting all men and all women to accept His free gift of eternal salvation through His Son Jesus Christ. He is not making any exceptions either by race, color, creed, or gender.
The Bible also tells us that God the Father is no respecter of persons, which means He loves each man and each woman equally and unconditionally.
3. We Are Saved by Grace Through Faith – Not Works
The gift of eternal salvation is a free gift given by God to all those who will believe on Jesus and what His death on the cross really means for all of us.
These next 3 verses will specifically tell us that good works will not get us into heaven. Works are needed after salvation.
The Bible says that faith without works is dead – but that is after you have received God’s gift of eternal salvation.
After you get saved, God has a plan and a purpose for your life, and this is where you will go to work for God into whatever your calling is going to be in Him.
But to initially receive the gift of eternal salvation from God the Father is simply done by having faith and belief in Jesus Christ and what He personally did for you with His death on the cross. Here are the verses:
- “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8)
- “… knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ … for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.” (Galatians 2:16)
- “Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin … for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:20,23)
The Bible specifically tells us in that last verse that all men and all women have sinned and have fallen way short of the glory of our God.
The Bible says that there are none that are righteous before the eyes of God the Father.
As a result, none of our fleshly works, no matter how good we think they may be, will ever be good enough to get us into heaven or back into the good graces of our Lord and Savior.
4. The Gift of Salvation Now Makes Us Righteous Before God the Father
Once you become saved and born again by accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, the Bible says that we are now made perfectly righteous before the eyes of God.
The righteousness of Jesus has now been imputed to us. This means that we are now free to approach the throne of God for intimate prayer and communication, and when we die, we will all go straight to heaven.
Even though we will continue to commit sin from time to time, God will always forgive us as long as we properly confess each sin when it does happen.
We will never become totally sinless or perfect. No one will ever become the fourth person of the Holy Trinity.
Only God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are totally perfect in Their actual personalities and in all of Their ways. Humans and angels are not!
The Bible says that all men have sinned and will continue to sin, and thus will fall way short of the glory of our God.
That is why Jesus had to come and die for all of our sins – which will include all of the past sins that we have ever committed, all of the present sins we are now committing, and all of the future sins that we will ever commit.
As a result of Jesus dying on the cross for all of our sins, God the Father now sees all of us as righteous and justified before His very eyes – now and for all of eternity, even though we are all still sinners!
Talk about an incredible pardon!
Here are two very powerful verses showing us that we have now all been made perfectly righteous and perfectly justified before God the Father as a result of Jesus dying on the cross for all of our sins.
- “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)
- “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.” (Romans 5:8)
So not only do we get a full pardon and a full remission for all of our sins, but we now get to be made perfectly righteous before God the Father Himself.
Righteousness and Redemption – what more could we ask for!
5. How to Become Saved and Receive the Gift of Eternal Salvation
The Bible makes it very clear as to how to receive the Gift of Eternal Salvation from God the Father:
- Admit that we are sinners, be willing to confess our sins before God, and be willing to repent and turn from those sins.
- Be willing to accept the fact that Jesus Christ came to our earth in the flesh to die on the cross for all of our sins, that He rose from the dead on the third day, and then be willing to formally accept Him as your personal Lord and Savior.
This acceptance of Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior must be confessed out loud before God the Father. It does not have to be done in a church. This can happen to anyone at anytime at any place. It can be done in the privacy of one’s own bedroom. Here are three specific verses showing all of the above points.
- “REPENT THEREFORE and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.” (Acts 3:19)
- “IF WE CONFESS OUR SINS, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)
- “… if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.” (Romans 10:9)
Notice the last verse says to confess with your mouth, and with the mouth confession is made to receive salvation.
This means just saying a good, basic, salvation prayer out loud direct to God the Father from your heart.
Below is a good, basic, salvation prayer to give to someone who wants to get saved by accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
Some people call this the “Sinners Prayer.” Others call it a basic salvation prayer. Either title will work.
Basic Salvation Prayer
Say the following prayer out loud, believe it from your heart, and you will be saved.
Dear Father,
I now believe that Jesus Christ is Your only begotten Son, that He came down to our earth in the flesh and died on the cross to take away all of my sins and the sins of this world. I believe that Jesus Christ then rose from the dead on the third day to give all of us eternal life.
Lord Jesus,
I now confess to You all of the wrong and sinful things I have ever done in my life. I ask that You please forgive Me and wash away all of my sins by the blood that You have personally shed for me on the cross. I am now ready to accept You as my personal Lord and Savior. I now ask that You come into my life and live with Me for all of eternity.
Father, Jesus – I now believe that I am truly saved and born again.
Thank you Father.
Thank you Jesus.
For more information on the above Sinner’s Prayer, we have another article in our site in the Prayer section titled, “The Sinner’s Prayer.” In this article, we give you some additional information as to what goes on behind the scenes in the spiritual realm when God does start to move in on someone in an effort to try and get them saved.
6. Become a Fisherman for God
All of the above are what I call the basics to understanding what eternal salvation through Jesus Christ is really all about. I will be doing other articles on what it really means to be born again, as this comes off the story of Adam and Eve.
To lead someone into eternal salvation through Jesus Christ is really a work of the Holy Spirit.
I will show you how God the Father will set people up, and why every Christian needs to be open and sensitive to letting God, through the Holy Spirit, direct you as to who you should witness to and exactly how to go about it. Now that your are saved, God wants you to become a fisherman for Him.
All of the above Scripture verses will give you major, live, ammunition to use when trying to get someone saved.
The Holy Spirit will really move on someone if you stay with His leadings as to when to witness to that someone and exactly how to go about it.
According to the Bible, the greatest thing we can accomplish in this life is to get another person saved and brought home to the Lord – because with the gift of eternal salvation comes the gift of eternal life – which means that when we die, we will be able to enter into heaven to be with God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, all of Their angels, and all of our saved loved ones who have passed away and are now living in heaven.
To bring a person into that incredible reality after they die is the greatest thing you can do for another human being!
It is the ultimate superman scenario. You are literally saving their eternal life.
I do not believe there is any other accomplishment that will bring about as much fulfillment as this one act will do.
I will leave you with 16 very good verses from the Bible showing you the extreme importance on God being able to use each and every one of us to get other people saved in this life.
- Then Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations …” (Matthew 28:18)
- And He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matthew 4:19)
- “As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” (John 20:21)
- “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14)
- “Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops.” (Matthew 10:27)
- “… to whom I now send you, to open their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.” (Acts 26:17)
- “Preach the word. Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, and exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.” (2 Timothy 4:2)
- “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things.” (Romans 10:15)
- “For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost … Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.” (Matthew 18:11,14)
- “Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord …” (2 Timothy 1:8)
- “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes … ” (Romans 1:16)
- “For I seek Your precepts. I will speak of Your testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed.” (Psalm 119:45)
- “Deliver those who are drawn toward death, and hold back those stumbling to the slaughter.” (Proverbs 24:11)
- “Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us …” (2 Corinthians 5:20)
- “They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom, and talk of Your power, to make known to the sons of men His mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of His kingdom.” (Psalm 145:11)
- “Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts, and I will declare Your greatness. They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness, and shall sing of Your righteousness.” (Psalms 145:6)
If you believe the Holy Bible is truly the inspired and infallible Word of our God, then there is absolutely no other interpretation or spin that you can put on the above verses. God the Father has made it as clear as He possibly could with the way that He has worded all of the above Scripture verses.
Bottom line – God’s free gift of eternal salvation can only be received by accepting His Son Jesus Christ and the blood that He has personally shed for each and everyone of us on that day He died on the cross.
There is no other way into the Kingdom of God! We either come through the blood and the cross – or we don’t come through at all!
I rest my case for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Thank GOD for discovering this site, is better to spend my time here than ruining my life on 2go. may GOD reward the publishers positively and aboundantly in JESUS name, Amen.
Thank GOD ALMIGHTY for this wonderful message. I almost forgot what true salvation in Jesus Christ truly meant. I thank GOD ALMIGHTY for Jesus Christ our Saviour. Now I really know what the Gospel is all about. May God always remind me of this message that I have read so that I will never forget it. God bless every Christian out there and may GOD ALMIGHTY prepare every Christian to become fishers of men to bring people to Jesus Christ.
God really answers prayer. Just this night I was thinking of how will I relay/share the message of Salvation and Truth to a friend’s friend whose mother is now suffering from sickness.
Thanks God!!! Hallelujah!!!
Nice Helper to share JESUS and HIS SALVATION, I lost my friend, then I decided I will share about the Eternal Life which God gives us, so that My loved people will enter to this KINGDOM OF GOD, without falling in to the LAKE OF FIRE
Thank God

Why is baptism in water a requirement in the process of becoming born again of God?
There are many religious proposals asserting that if they are believed and followed the result is a union with God, a god or many gods, which are supposedly unseen beings of supernatural power.
“No man hath seen God at any time.” The main claim the Bible makes is that the god it describes as God is the only Living God. And it is only this God who has supernatural power for no other gods have any power whatsoever. “There are no other gods besides Me and you shall not have any other gods beside Me.” Period. But devious sinful mankind, who is practically unalterably wicked because of being a natural descendent of Adam, has the devious idea that the Living God did not mean exactly what he said. And no matter what form God presents himself in, unseen, manifested in the flesh and even in one Word, devious wicked mankind always erroneously thinks he has the best ideas regardless of what the Living God says. There is nothing of greater contrast, absurdity and oxymoronic than this one term, YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN, to the naturally born human. Because the naturally born erroneously thinks he is a child of God, but the actual truth about him is “Ye are the children of your father the Devil” which is the curse of natural birth to both the Jew and Gentile alike.
There are two things we all know from the Bible. But regardless of whether one accepts these things as being true it does not change these facts into not being true. The man, titled as the Lord Jesus Christ in the Bible, is God manifested in the flesh. The man, titled as the only Begotten Son of the Living God, has perfected the only Way any child of the Devil by natural birth can escape from that curse by his crucifixion. However the naturally born must have the faith to use, put into physical human practice, exactly what the Lord thy God says through the apostles to become redeemed from the curse of your physical natural birth. This has only produced another child of the Devil.
In all of your cases there are actually four things you must have the faith to do in order to be redeemed from the curse of your natural birth.
1. Lay aside every contemporary explanation of salvation which you have read, heard from any contemporary church’s pulpit. The salvation doctrines of all theologians and whomever they have taught, and whoever positively pontificates in any form that what theologians teach about the Lord’s Way of salvation is not falsehood. For their doctrines of salvation are specifically designed to keep you out of God’s kingdom and t
2. If you get over that hurdle, which I doubt many of you will, it is necessary to test what I teach. In other words you will have the faith to try what I teach to prove or disprove what I teach. If any of you sincerely obey my gospel one or more of the spiritual gifts listed by the apostles will be physically manifested in you proving what I teach is actually true. But the required confession must be your honest conviction or it is a lie.
3. Hurdle three. Where the rubber meets the road and what every theologian and contemporary preacher hotly contests and must contest. But if you continue to believe what they contest and pontificate there is no hope of you escaping the curse of your natural birth. None. For this is the actual key you must have the faith to hope, trust in, and in sincerity use to escape from the consequence of your natural birth. For there is absolutely no other way of escaping the curse of natural birth and the curse of the law. For by Jesus’ crucifixion a law has been added to the law. And you must have the faith to obey this law exactly as you have been commanded by the Lord thy God given through the apostles. Or willfully disobey a law of God which is not forgivable. Which is what Jesus meant by saying “they are now being forced in” by the law added to the law by and after his crucifixion?
4. Hurdle four. Recanting your former ways of salvation and be baptized into the new testimony about Jesus’ bloodshed. For without the shedding of His blood there is no remission of sin’s penalty for any of the naturally born. But understand me clearly. The crucifixion of Jesus’ has only perfected the Way you might escape from the curse of your natural birth and the law’s penalty. But to escape both you must by faith, sight unseen, obey an actual law that has been entered into the law as an act of righteousness. That if correctly obeyed by any naturally born individual God will declare him righteous as he promises.
“It is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous.”Rom. 2:13
The only Way this law, the Law of the Spirit, can be obeyed is by making this confession directly to God sincerely meaning it in your heart and be baptized in water to receive the promise.
“Oh God I am so truly and sincerely sorry your only begotten son Jesus’ lost his life by bloodshed when he was crucified.” There is no other way to escape.
“I am not ashamed: for
I know whom I have
believed, and am
persuaded that he is
able to keep
that confession
which I have committed
unto Him against
that day.
Theodore A. Jones
New life in Jesus
“While we were yet sinners, Jesus, the most holy one from above died in place of us, to redeem us, paying the price of our sins which is death (wages of sin is death).
He is risen and is made the Lord and judge – faith in Him and obeying his Word alone can save you, for, no other name is given under the sun except of Jesus of Nazareth, by which one can be saved.
Good works would necessarily accompany a true believer (faith without good works is dead). Good works (Mt. 25) without faith cannot save you because even sinners do good works sometimes. “We are all sinners, (God alone is holy), and we are devoid of the grace to be saved by good works alone. All human beings are sinners and under the curse of death. (Even saints sin seven times a day…).
A sinner may die (sacrifice one’s life) for another man – a sinner. This act cannot save anyone of them because, both are sinners and incapable of salvation (union with God). Only a perfect (sinless) man can pay the retribution for another. And so, Jesus the most holy person (God himself incarnated in the person of Jesus) paid the price of sins by dying for all the sinners on the cross (most shameful death, which would have been our death). By his glorious rising from death, he became the saviour (designated by God) of all those who believe in him. ‘He overcame death which is our death; ‘ for, death has no more power on him anymore’. He gives this promise of life to all who believe in him. (If you don’t believe in this redemption, you are still a slave to sin and death). Is it too difficult to understand?
New life in Jesus simply means a life above the laws and commandments (Jesus has fulfilled all laws and commandments of the Old Testament. The new law has come i.e. ‘love your enemies and do good to those who hate you’; ‘go the second mile with the one who asks for the first mile’…
Jesus did not appoint any representative for him on earth; instead he invited care takers, elders, teachers, and preachers of his message. There is no more priests (we have only one high priest who is from the most holy God), no more sacrifices, no more rituals, no ceremonies, no other mediators, no magical formulas, no institutions, no structures, no authority, no powers – that would save you!
God has clearly revealed His plan of salvation in the person of Jesus, no secrets about it and no one should make it obscure. May God give you the grace of freedom to get out of the man-made shackles during this New Year…let not the time run short.
Thomas K. Paul
“no man cometh unto the Father, but BY Me.”
You conjecture assumes that fulfilled also means abolished the law and this prevents your mind from reconizing that Jesus’ life that was lost by bloodshed is an accountable sin caused by bloodshed. No one is going to ride into God’s kingdom on the back of the sin of his only begotten son’s murder. For the small narrow gate that his crucifixion has perfected and you must have the faith to use is by confessing directly to God that you are truly sorry Jesus’ life was lost by bloodshed when he was crucified. If not you will not be given the grace to escape the penalty of eternal death since not giving this confession is the disobedience of a law that was added to the law by Jesus’ crucfixion.
“The law was added so that the trespass[of his crucifixion] might increase.”
Your argument falsely assumes that the sin of murdering a man by bloodshed to be a direct benefit for your self and is actually the psychological motive respondent to the worship of Moloch. No one is freed from serving the penalty of eternal death just by sacrificing a man in his place, but psycopaths do this all the time and then justify themselves when caught. What! do you apporove of what they do Tommy?
Thank God for this site i am reachly blessed.
Dear Brother,
Your article “The Basics of Eternal Salvation Through Jesus Christ” is a blessing to me. The way you present is beautifull, easy to understand and appealing. I use to keep a copy of this article in my hand wherever I move for ministry so that I can use the same for sharing gospel to new friends.
You may get some critical comments (some kind of judgments from their point of view), but don’t feel discourage brother, you have exposed what the Bible says and that’s it. Go ahead, write many useful articles that will bless many many people. God bless you.

Jesus Christ is the only way to God. Every human being can receive salvation just in a moment .Salvation by grace through faith can be obtained simply by the salvation prayer.Even the deepest sinner is invited. This is amazing grace of God available only by believing in Jesus. No other religion in the world offers such a salvation.
All humankind is challenged to receive this free salvation This is a very good article. Also one should get the baptism of the Holy Ghost by asking from God. Walk with God with a right relationship with Him in regularly praying and reading the word of God , the Bible. Maintain this reat8ionship with God daily on a regular basis until the point of death with the power of the Holy Ghost.
I am enjoying this website. When it comes to evangelism I have found a very effective way to explain the gospel to people who are lost. I have been doing street witnessing for a few years and it really is the most biblical “method” so to speak. and you’re able to explain the gospel in a way that makes sense to the sinner, it’s not watered down and yet it’s not offensive. the gospel will always be offensive to some degree to those without Christ.
the information is on another awesome website called wayofthemaster.com
I would like to read more about what things that a saved person need to do.
People ask why water baptism? Here it is in a nutshell. Scripture emphatically teaches without repentance there is no salvation. Repentance comes from two Greek words and they are – – change – mind,. the question change your mind from what to what? Of course from going your own way to God’s way. How do you know God’s way? Read the instruction manual. The new covenant in Christ Jesus which is the New Testament. The apostles Paul said follow me as I follow Christ. When Paul accepted Jesus Christ he was baptized. And Jesus when he started his earthly ministry was also baptized by John the Baptist. And Jesus said to John do this to fulfill all righteousness. The word righteousness simply means right doing. So baptism by the way it is in the imperative mood which is a command, we fulfill right doing as commanded by the word of God and Jesus Christ himself. We are not saved by water baptism because of the water, but by the obedience of fulfilling his command. It completes our repentance or should I say shows our true repentance. If we are disobedient to the command of baptism it shows that we are at odds with his word and command and our heart is not right within us. Therefore we are not going God’s way but choosing our own way. Thus have not changed our mind in obedience.
Your forgetting something on this site… Acts 2:38 says Then Peter said into them, Repent, and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of you sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Why is it that people ALWAYS leave of the filling of the Holy Ghost?)
I will tell you the reason why, they leave out Acts 2:38.Because Acts 2:38 do not agree with there Trinity Doctrine. The Apostles baptized in Jesus name,Acts 2:38,8:12,10:48,and 19:5.Jesus commanded the disciples/apostles in Matthew 28:19 to baptize in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. The Disciple went forth and baptized in the Name of Jesus. Now,either Jesus is the name of the Father, and of the the Son,and of the Holy Ghost,or the disciples/apostles did not obey what Jesus commanded them to do.Its just that simple!
I don’t understand how people could baptise/be baptized in the name of the father, son, holyghost but they never actually say the name.
Also whenever I present this case to people
(That the apostles baptised in Jesus Christ or Lord Jesus name) they often ignore or go on some other topic ignoring what I said.
I mean it is written that Jesus Christ opened he there understanding that they might understand schriptures (St luke 25:45)
And once they had understanding then did they started baptising and by what name?
Jesus christ
I believe it was by His grace that I discovered this site. May the Holy Spirit continue to use you for God’s glory
God bless you!
blessed to have dicovered this site, have a family fellowship tonight and the lesson is about Basics of Salvation and what i have learned here , i will share it with others.
a righteous God had to have payment for our sin (falling short of His law) or he would not be righteous. the only payment good enough was his pure, Holy Son Jesus Christ!!! thank God he chose to sacrifice his best for us!!!!!
John 3: Unless your are born again you can not see the kingdom of God (John 3:5 water born)… John 3:5 unless one is born of water and the Spirit, He can not enter the kingdom of God… Using the cross as part of us being saved is not used in the Bible. The blood of Jesus is for covering our sins. The born again is by water and by the Holy Spirit’s fire, (Acts 2:2-4 John 3:6-8)…. Making Jesus – Lord and Savior of your life is right and the prayer of salvation is the best one I have read or heard. I spoke it out to cover any gaps in my life from previous salvation prayers.
It is not trough praying a certain prayer that you are saved.
You are only saved through believing that Jesus died for all of your sins.
Not through perfectly reciting a certain prayer, but only through faith.
Not through confession but through believing that your sins have been forigiven.
God bless
To quote a saint: Show me your faith without works and I will show you from my works my faith. If someone has faith he will do the works as the faith in his heart moves him to do so. So while one can do the works without having faith one cannot claim to have faith and not also do the works.
I left atheism at a very early age. I came to see it as illogical, especially when I read Einstein mocking atheists. It was unreasoning. You couldn’t discuss certain things and most were barely adults, no matter their age. Einstein, tho he never became a Christian, had a deep love for Jesus and His teachings. A Native American, I began to look into other religions (anything but 🙂 as a sourse of stablilty (I was in my early teens yet). Each religion pointed at Christ as being perfect, just as Einstein did. Buddhists preach Christ and defend Christians in many nations and are coming to Christ. Muslims must use the Name of the Lord in healing prayers and casting out unclean spirits. Satanists use Jesus’ name and symbols to protect themselves from their masters, the demons. At age 27, I finally accepted the Lord and the world crashed down. I’m still in the wilderness decades later (this world and it’s troubles) but it blooms like the rose. Pools of living water (Holy Spirit) break out in dry places (in my life). Streams of water (miracles) flow and I bear much fruit for the Lord. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will delight in you. I will to love the Lord with all my heart, mind, soul, and all my strength. God, You walk in beauty.
I love that you clearly love and delight in the Lord. You walk in relationship with the Lord just as I do. Many in the body are missing this adventure with our Creator. What a blessing your testimony is to me today. Thanks.
I deal with a situation of which confusion and torment never stop. How do I cleanse my mind, body and spirit to receive God in my heart when I have tried relentlessly yet have been unable to achieve this. My prayers are not answered although I pray constantly.
God led me to learning about how important the spoken word is, the words we speak are very powerful, it’s important to speak good things over ourselves, our families, and others. For generations this negativity was spoken in my family, past down generation to generation, self deprecating words spoken over ourselves, our families, and I personally criticized and slandered everyone around me and I wasn’t even aware I was doing this, basically casting a spell of darkness on everyone, which I eventually lost myself and my family in. I suppose the one good thing was I became so lost I had to do something or perish, eventually I had tried everything I could do, still without without success. Finally I turned back to God in desperation to find my way out of my despair. I asked for eyes to see and ears to hear… I received clear cut directions, so much was of my trouble was my perspective, my own making, and what I paid attention to. It started with some letters I wrote to God and to my family, accepting that of myself I am lost, accepting help from others, and finally asking forgiveness from God and Jesus and being accountable to the people I harmed. He has changed my tongue and my perspective and now I do my best to speak goodness over myself and others and the world. He turned my attention to the light, and with his help I found my way out of the darkness.
Please help, I don’t know if i’m saved and I did the steps on this page to be saved but I still don’t know if i’m saved. I already did the steps before but the thing is that I keep going on and off with God, like one day i am right with Him and the next day I commit a very big sin so I am not right with Him. And even if i tried to come back to God today and do these steps and i meant it i still don’t feel saved, and i still feel guilty. I’m also scared that God will come when I am in my “off” moments, and I am scared to sleep because my heart/chest has been hurting so I might die at any time and I don’t even know where I’m going. I truly just want to be with God and I am trying to stop falling into temptation and I really just want to produce the fruits of the Holy Spirit and be saved but I don’t know if i’m saved. And even when I tried to do these steps, i am feeling kind of maybe hopless because I have done this so many times but I keep going back to the sin and going away from God. I have tried to repent and stop doing the sin, but i don’t even know if i’m truly repenting, even if i tell God “i’m turning away from this and that” and i really mean it and actually feel bad for sinning, I go and do it again. I think I was saved at a point but now i don’t even know anymore, and I don’t want Jesus to say that He never knew me or He doesn’t know me.
God bless you!
I, too, have struggled to “feel” saved and, my friend, I’ve learned that my salvation can never be taken from me even if I continue in the same sin I was saved from. Salvation is a gift given to you, by God’s grace and because He is merciful. This gift cannot be taken from you by anyone, not even yourself.
You cannot sin your way out of salvation.
You say, several times, that you are “trying” – trying not to be tempted, trying not to sin.
But you see, you are attempting to do what only God can do. You’re trying to do His part rather than your own.
You are never going to be perfect. You cannot ever do everything perfectly, including not sinning. We are sinners by our very nature and as a sinner you, and I, will always be tempted to fall into sin. God, however, says He will not tempt you beyond what you can handle. If, however, you go back to the sin again, you are still saved and you’re still going to heaven.
The trick, I’m learning, is to immediately go to God for forgiveness, accept that forgiveness as fact, forgive yourself and move forward.
The next time you’re tempted, pray that God will give you the strength to resist. If you sin again, go to the Lord for forgiveness again.
We are saved once, my friend, but walking out our salvation – learning to live according to God’s word – is a lifelong process. Some days will be easier than others but Satan is going to do all he can to win you back from God so there will be some difficult days as well.
The thing to keep in mind is that your place in heaven is assured. If you believe Christ to be God’s Son and have acknowledged that, if you have given your sin to God and are committed to walking, however imperfectly, with Him then you can rest easy each night, knowing that heaven is your ultimate destination.
Don’t try to be perfect. When you fall, and we all do, God is right there to help you begin again. Over time, you will find yourself changing, little by little and the times you fall into that same old sin will become fewer and fewer.
You are saved by God’s grace because He is merciful and loves you. Your sin is no surprise to Him. You cannot lose the gift you’ve been given unless you yourself reject it.
Rest easy, my friend.
Thank you Jesus for your Blood you shed on the cross of Calvary for my sin. We were lost in sin but you made a way for us to come back to God. The perfect sacrifice, unblemished. I will forever be grateful of your Love for mankind. Forever you be glorified, forever. Thank you Jesus.
Continue to pray and ask God to take away the urges and feelings that you think makes you go back to sinning after repentance. God said “he will not leave us or forsake us”
Good works do not save us, of course, It states it clearly in Ephesians 2. But Good works follow from faith, for without them, our faith is Dodo Dead. Works don’t save us, but they are also not to be taken as an elective “Well, Do-them-if-you-feel-like-it !” suggestion, with little or no consequence if you omit them.
NOT BY PAUL ALONE…
You need to take the whole sweep of Revelation into account and not merely Pauline theology. Revelation 19:8 and Matthew 25. At the General judgment, when Jesus splits the saved and the damned, nowhere doe He mentions faith, but He does Good Works of feeding Him in the poor and visiting him in sickness etc, which we have either done, or failed to do. That does not seem inconsequential. This is a plea not to omit living faith that expresses itself in good works. Don’t be afraid of those words, Good Works, they are not dirty. The Master used them… often (Mat 6:1). He looked at the heart behind them.
